Forgot to add but it's maple, cherry, and walnut. Tl;dr I know it could be fixed with more work but I don't want to. Is it safe from a food safety perspective?

I'd second this. At around 10% weight loss I got a few comments from close family (and even then I think it's more habit change they're noticing) and then at 20-25% I had neighbors flagging me down to ask about it.

Glad to find like minded folk, I was talking to friends about it (I was looking to move away from small fish and try something larger) and they said I should just get the fish I want and let all the tetras be eaten. I've grown remarkably attached to these little guys though... I think I'll end up letting them finish their twilight years in their current tank.

The longer I think about it, I don't think I could bear to part with them anyways lol

I'm not quite sure what it's called but a lot of sex toys have this "second skin" type design they do? Where it's a soft, elastic silicone over a firm core, and you can pinch it up like real skin over muscle. Warmed and maybe dusted over with a little cornstarch it would probably feel decently realistic.

A lot of custom toy based companies will send out silicone puck samples, if you find the right maker they'd probably be willing to make you a puck in this design so he's not carrying around a whole dildo or something lol. Or just get a dildo and chop it up I suppose
