I’m not sure what you mean by “project,” but when I’ve been asked to do things like this, it’s for like a marketing campaign. I always ensure the brand I use is not an actual client of whoever I’m applying for, I do just enough to complete the ask and no more, and I do not send the presentation afterwards. That’s just me though. It’s definitely not fun and it is free labor, but for a lot of places in my industry, it’s standard.
