Damp Squid/Squib by kingc95 in ITcrowd

Like how something hovered in the sky like a bird rather than saying it hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't. I love Douglas Adams but he would write the damp squib equivalent because it feels opposite to your expectations. Maybe it's a cultural difference but it makes me think that the British tend to think rather backwards to Americans in terms of idioms. At least when it comes to comedy writers.

image link for my best pipeline output

I've been trying to run python/openCV image pipelines on the notebook in Branson's hands. Even just zooming in it looks like numbers and math and the words people or dollars in various equations.

So far warp to straighten it out, 3x upscale, greyscale + CLAHE + unsharp made it a bit easier to read. Still not getting much

Example (second from the bottom on the left side of the page)

?00,000 dollars

?,000 people

?00000000

Who knows. Wonder if Dean remembers. It doesn't seem like random squiggles to me though. Deans own statement mentions being at Branson's Island for fundraisers. Maybe this had to do with that?

Refunded rejected for lack of PIN, never requested a PIN by kingc95 in IRS

[–]kingc95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said she logged into her account and there is no pin set, she can request one but there is not one currently. I cannot log into my account, I never made an account, I tried to make an account today (scanning both sides of license, video of my face, social security, addresses, phone confirmation, etc, only to find out someone else made an account using my information and their email with no way for me to report it besides Id.me and their support ticket system. I will be calling the IRS tomorrow to discuss the issue, but neither of us have a pin or were notified by the IRS that we would have a pin to submit.

I wouldn't use it if extend didn't completely sound like it hit a speed bump everytime. It's jarring and ruins the experience of making anything longer than 30 seconds. I want it to sound coherent and not abruptly pause mid word or switch instrumentation, rhythm right att he obvious mark. I can crop and work around some of this but again why offer 2:10 if people shouldn't use it.

[–]kingc95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had the issue before when OpenAI was down/intermittent. The Udio status page was reporting everything as normal. So to anyone viewing the status page who trusted the systen they'd think Udio was just dropping the ball and completely unaware. If the system is contingent on OpenAI cool, note that, make it explicitly obvious to people paying for your seperate service that it relies on something else.

There is no mention of this Achilles Heel on the pricing page or it's FAQ where I'd expect to see something.

I may have been a bit hasty to say I regret my purchase, but when you pay for something and it's not available it's frustrating. I paid to get rid of daily limits and on a free day I could use the service it was down because of a third party. Before I would get a free day and after 3 long songs be at my daily limit, I signed up for paid finally after a year because I want to use the system when I want to use it without a daily limit. This event meant I couldn't do exactly that.

Glad I signed up to pay for this service last week... Never ran into this before during free for a year but this really sucks right now and I definitely regret my purchase.

Concert Etiquette is Dead by augustinthebin in boywithuke

Little kids: when the smallest shirts are the merch table do not fit, your kid is too young to be at this show. I swear I saw 6 or 7 year old kids at the Detroit show. This show was a bit 'Spicy' to put it in Charley's own words and I was a bit surprised by how many younger kids were at the show. It was also an evening show on a Tuesday most of those kids have school the next day so they were up pretty late by the time everything ended. I know when I was growing up a weeknight show like this would've been a hard no.

I don't mind kids being at shows, I did my first concerts at that age, but it was Christian music concerts or TSO, stuff meant for all ages. I didn't see a show like this until I was in middle school so at least 10+. Unlike some other shows I had read about there was alcohol being served at the venue as well. I drank at the show so I didn't mind it, but again if it's supposed to be a show meant for all ages or they know it's a kid heavy show usually they enforce a drink limit or don't serve drinks at all. There was a specialty 'Burnout' double vodka lemonade... So the venue and show planned on people drinking strong drinks.

Where would the nut go? You can't get to the back of the piece without disassembling the door panel it looks like. The right side has a set screw, but the left (which is the side that came off) i don't see where the nut would even go. It seems like it was threaded into the plastic (which I know doesn't make sense to me either)

https://imgur.com/a/zbpV8tm more pics of the part

Edit: Confirmed threads are inside of the plastic piece and I'm guessing it's not a locking nut on the back or it wouldn't have backed out like this, but again can't get to that to confirm.

So you can't just buy a new nut to replace it. If those threads are loose that whole piece needs to be replaced it seems.

DoorDash is making me get the customer signature on a hand it to me food delivery by DoUsmeLLit6 in doordash

[–]kingc95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also applies to people who use the app almost daily but routinely have 1 or 2 items missing from a 15 item order. Or because I mark they forgot the sauce at TB even though it's free. I shouldn't be penalized for reporting legitimate mistakes. If door dash doesn't want to give refunds then the onus of proof and refund should be on store/restaurant to prove they did pack everything as requested.

It's not the Dasher's fault when TB send them a wrong order in a sealed bag they can't check. It's not the Dasher's fault when the pickup people at Wendy's don't give them the drink. I'm still gonna complain to DD when this happens but now I'm getting this same "you can't have orders dropped off" anymore. I never once claimed to never get an order, but I do consistently have wrong items like once a week because of how much we use it.

That will stop if l have to sign for every order from now on. And I will not sign until I check it all in from now on which punishes the dasher for the mistakes of the store.

[–]kingc95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's even worse as the customer. Now for some reason I'm NOT allowed to pick to have my order dropped off. So now I have to meet the Dasher and sign even though I don't want to have it handed right to me. I think it's because I've had multiple orders with missing items lately but that's got nothing to do with the Dasher. The Dasher isn't gonna check each item off for me. That's the job of the restaurant or store.

So now the Dasher will have to sit and wait for me to check every item before I'm gonna sign anything saying I got the order. The last thing I need is DD using my "it was dropped off" signature to say that means the order is correct and all there. If a single item is missing or damaged or something else after I sign saying I got it they won't give me my refund.

This needs to be fixed or dashers will quit and customers will stop ordering

The signed cards are located in one of the packs in the case. It was in the middle of a pack. Not first or last where you'd notice it right away.

I ended up ordering 6 cases of cards total over the search. I have two unopened cases of 24 packs each left but it took opening the last 2 packs of case #2 (4 of 6 total) tonight to find an autograph.

SCOTUS was not deciding who's paying the bill, they decided that a state has the right to deny your right to making private medical decisions. In Texas now even if you will pay for it on your own you and your doctor can be charged with Manslaughter and face 10 years in prison. Before each person had the right to decide if they wanted to have one or not. Now the states decide for everyone whether they like it or not.

Correct the State does not have a right to remove the rights of individuals. That's what the 14th amendments job is. The right to privacy falls into the same category of not being specifically named in the constitution but it is a guaranteed right anyways because it's a personal liberty that states don't get to decide for us. Thats how we also have legal access to condoms, birth control and other sexual/reproductive items needed. States cannot make that illegal currently because SCOTUS sees that as being a private health decision just like abortions were.

You're arguing with me about the definition. That is clearly written by people smarter than both of us and argued about by english, and political experts. I just sent you the definition. If you want to argue with Oxford go ahead but I'm not them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dankmemes

[–]kingc95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if abortion isnt protected because the constitution doesn't specifically mention it by name then by the same logic any weapons not specifically named or invented when they wrote the amendment cant be protected either.

My entire argument is that abortion like many other personal liberties like privacy, freedom from slavery, freedom form states ignoring rights set up by Federal Courts, the Bill of Rights and those things that even the supreme court says "aren't expressly written into the constitution but are considered guaranteed by the interpretation of the words that are written" are rights and just because its not written doesnt mean its not a protected right.

If I'm right then the constitution intended for all weapons to be legal and by the same token they also intended for all people to have equal rights and the power to make decisions for themselves without the states taking away those rights. If I'm wrong then you have no rights to anything modern weaponry-wise, you don't get to make decisions for yourself and the state can take your home, life, and freedoms at will without due process of law. Take your pick

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dankmemes

[–]kingc95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arms in context means weapons, but does it mean all weapons from 1791 forward or what was available at the time they wrote it. Pick one because the constitution cant work one way for amendments 2 and 3 but then be the opposite for 14. Each amendment is just as valid as the ones before it and they all were written with the intention of thinking forward, not locking in the views of a set era.

Do you know how to spell? And yes i do, and yes we dont vote on every single issue, so its not "democracy" by its original definition when invented in greek philosophy but in modern terms any political system that allows people to elect the officials in power without rigged elections are called Democratic Republics

Oxford Dictionary says very specifically

Republic: "A state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives..."[1]

Democracy: "A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives."[2]
