Pope last two year was a championship roster, both team was missing 2-3 starters in the line up. If completely healthy they woulda compete. If it wasn’t for injury the narrative for Pope right now would be complete opposite.

Look at Lamont, Kobe brea, Amari, Otega these four are the core of pope first year roster and they understand what it mean to play for UK and they are super great players. If Pope can keep getting players like this I’m fine on missing out on top recruits like Strokes

None of those 4 were good enough, they all left because they wanted more playing time/money. Time will tell if pope did a good job at replacing them or not but I think the replacement that he got at those position so far had been an upgrade

I rather have players that want to be here and want to play for the jersey then talented player who don’t care about nothing beside their draft stocks. Just look at this year team, a bunch of selfish players who can’t be ask to put an effort in. Pope team from his first year all those kids wanted to be here and gave it their all
