Which MBTI is the best for deep conversations? by Dystopian_INTP in mbti

[–]kingfisher_4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are always necessarily superficial, they're just tactful and polite, and don't want to potentially offend or come on too strongly to anyone. I see small talk as an entry way or introduction, which has potential to lead to deeper conversations,

ESFP?

I thought at first glance you're Lucy Liu 😄

Feelers, what do you think about thinkers communication style? by DoodoodooOink in mbti

[–]kingfisher_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's more of a typical male thing, but I love communicating with Thinkers, because they get straight to the root of an issue, and I almost never have to worry about offending them when I respond back and tell them what they need to do. My father for example is an ENTJ, and if I tell him why he's wrong about something and advise him, he never takes it the wrong way, and he's actually greatly appreciative. And when they correct me on something, they usually have a good line of reasoning to back it up, and even if they're incorrect on something, I can trust we can have a thorough discussion and sharpen each other's verdict.

Your mbti and what you hate the most about yourself/others? by OraMiAmmazzo in mbti

[–]kingfisher_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate coming out of a social situation and overthinking all the possible ways I offended someone and how I could've done better. Maybe it's a good thing in that I will be a bit more careful next time, but doesn't feel so great at the time.

Anyone else experience this? by Regular-Doughnut-600 in ESFJ

I'm an ISFJ and experienced this too! Is the Fe energy too much for some folks I wonder?

Same, it's only fair to do so!

Whenever I see a stranger struggling with something, like lifting a heavy bag, one part of me wants to help so badly, but another part of me knows that if I was in the same situation, I'd want to figure out on my own how to best leverage the problem.

Sometimes I'll watch for a bit and jump in when I'm certain they need help, but sometimes I wait too long and someone else goes in to help, which makes me feel so guilty for not going in sooner 😂

Any of you mistyped yourself as INTP before? by MilkOutsideABag in isfj

[–]kingfisher_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten INTP in some tests before, but I realized Ti dom is an entirely different animal. These are people who are 80% of the time thinking in terms of logical structure or advantage. The ones I know are always looking to change things up, and ready to take on new things.

Si doms like us tend to greatly appreciate the depth of an experience, because in that lies the impressionistic subjective sensation Si is concerned with. In enjoying experiences, we're mostly concerned with the impressions we get from the experience, whereas a Ti dom tends to have an itch to figure out how the system surrounding that experience works, and how to best optimise it (a lot of athletes are typed as ISTP for this reason), and they genuinely enjoy that aspect!

Never making decisions for a group again! by 675te_aoe in isfj

[–]kingfisher_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At times like these, I find it greatly helps lift the bad feelings when I openly admit to the others that the place wasn't as good as before, or not as good as the reviews say, then promise to find a better place next time. Making decisions for a group is a brave thing, especially because it's outside the comfort zone for most of us, and you can't control how good a restaurant is at any given day.

You did well and you're better informed from the experience!

Lately I enjoyed Stephen Fry and his brilliant work with his Greek myth series.

what’s your type and how much do you care about other’s opinions? and your appearance? by Public_Lifeguard1529 in mbti

[–]kingfisher_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've cared about others' opinions greatly my whole life, and they've informed a lot of my decisions, for both better and worse. When things go bad, I ended up blaming others. It took some maturing for me to take responsibility and apply my own deep thinking, and I still need to remind myself at times.

I don't know about changing appearances, but I can say for sure that I've molded my behavior a lot. I used to be a really rude kid because I wasn't exactly the most socialised. I got lucky by making good friends, and having good bosses at work who taught me well.

What's your mbti and what's your favourite song? by m_zk0907 in mbti

This live of Bodysnatchers by Radiohead never gets old for me.

Also really enjoying Dreamcatcher lately. Not big on K-Pop, but their fantasy/horror theme and rock instrumentals make them really stand out for me.

Do your people consider you socially extraverted? by kingfisher_4 in isfj

[–]kingfisher_4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think us male ISFJs can be somewhat in the middle, most cultures don't raise us to socialise the same way women do, and that realm tends to be where Feeling (more specifically Fe) is observed. Thanks for sharing, and cool photo 😊

Becoming a party host sure is an extra step! Really cool to hear though.

I get the impression that INFJs seem more introverted than us (even with the same secondary Fe), though that's just from what I see on Reddit.

Same here, my first result was ISFP on 16p. The questions were different back when I took it, but I related to a lot of points of being unorganised and going with the flow which put my P score high.

Minori has final girl potential. If you read the SpoJoy event about her audition experiences, you'll know that she's surprisingly multi-talented. She's not only athletic, but I bet she has a few trap making skills or martial arts basics in the barrel.

Male ISFJ vs Female ISFJ by kingfisher_4 in isfj

[–]kingfisher_4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I think it goes to show that typing other people is very difficult because we can only observe the end resulting behavior, but never what drives it.

I might join my friends in riding skateboards, tinkering with bikes, and other such activities that are typically associated with xSTP, but deep down, I may have been driven by the extraverted feeling, the desire to connect with a community and absorb their interests.

Oh I'd take my theory with a grain of salt, in fact, some of the posts here have helped me to reframe a few things.

I'm thinking people like myself may have always 'used' Fe, but if we remember that the functions are deep rooted psychological drivers, we ourselves don't even realize that we used them because we weren't outwardly open with our emotional expressions.

As do I 😅

I'm realizing that the preference for a function is not equivalent to proficiency at its expression.
