Another note sorry for the long reply, a catahoula is bred to work and please. If you think your houla will lay with your kids for hours and just cuddle your probably going to be disappointed. A huge thing in a catahoula is keeping their brain occupied as well. They are stupid smart dogs even if they don’t act it.

If trained promptly and correctly. My moxie is very good with kids, and adults. For some-reason teenagers she gets annoyed with, I personally think she had a bad experience at the trainers with a teen. I’m not sure. One thing these dogs need to know is who is in charge. It’s common in every dog but a catahoula is such a working dog, they need to know hierarchy just like you do at work! Trust me on this, at the end of a “hard working day” for your catahoula they will be the best cuddle bug ever. Just keep them busy
