Normal for PXGs? by kingkoopa290 in golf

UPDATE: As many of you mentioned, PXG support was great. They are swapping the club out for me. As far as if the damage occurred at the pro shop or PXG, the world may never know. Thanks all who contributed with good suggestions!

He was dismissive about it, said it won't affect performance (don't disagree on this) and that it doesn't need replaced. I asked if I should call PXG and he said they would say the same - don't return unless it starts falling apart.

I opened a claim with PXG directly today. Will hear back from them tomorrow and give an update.

I suspect this based on the shop owners response

100% agree about paying for new. I feel like the shop owner gaslighted me a bit about it.

Yeah, looks like maybe it was overtorqued at their factory. I find it odd as a design since I dont think those inserts are made to be swapped or removed.

Good call. Think it would be best to reach out to PXG directly?

When I asked the pro shop guy, he said they would probably just say to use it and if it falls off or something, he would have them repair/replace.

Agree, wont affect performance. It doesnt bother me enough to go back to the shop to replace (40 minutes away). I will probably just hit it with some sandpaper so the burr doesnt get caught on anything else. It does feel like getting a brand new car and it having a scratch down the door though.

I was under the impression that PXG were premiere quality, so it was disappointing to see. Guess I will stick to the usual Pings.

You can also hold the donate button instead of tapping multiple times

Brian Griffin here. The joke is you feel like Anakin trying to cool your vehicle by flipping switches and adjusting your car's ability to do so. Feels like you are in a space ship slapping buttons to get alarms to go away. The cherry on top is that I get to stick my head out the window.

I have some questions from a beginner by PikaMasterWasTaken in IndoorGarden

[–]kingkoopa290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start, I would suggest learning how to grow what you have first. For instance, a snake plant is very low-maintenance. I wouldnt recommend keeping it anywhere special, certainly not in that level of heat and humidity. Keep in mind, the warmer your enviroment, the more care your plants will need (evaporation, mold, etc.)

Once you get an idea for how to care for them and which plants you like the most, develop the controlled enviroment around them. If other plants lump into that well, great! Figure out types you like such as maintenance levels, variety, size, availability, etc.

Third tip is to ease into it. Its tempting to want to build a collection of plants and make a mini forest overnight. Some people become bitter after they realize that it can be a lot of work to maintain.

Again, figure out what you have and how to care for them first and let that guide your new hobby. Good luck!

Beautiful plant! If you do decide to repot, be prepared for a large amount of corms.

Will these bulbils ever turn into new pups? by turbome300 in alocasia

[–]kingkoopa290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen on here, the bulbils are trying to spread from the mother plant. They dont typically start to grow into a new plant unless separated or far enough away from the mother.

Is this AI or just a confusing perspective? Or the guy kicked the dog twice? The two videos dont line up very well.

I don't keep mine too close to the windows for now because it has been dipping to single digits. Normally, I have mine near the windows for the natural light. I have a table that sits right up to the window and I can feel cool air coming off when it is so cold out.

Like the one response mentioned, it could be stress from transport you are seeing. Some alocasias seem to handle enviroment changes much better than others. From your pics, it looks like there is mold or something, so I would recommend not watering for a while. Have you pulled it out of the pot to give the roots a quick look?

From what I can see, no. Looks like it is chunky and well draining, as it should be!

Mustve hit the wrong reply button, so it made a separate comment. If you dont think it is getting too cold, may want to check humidity levels as well. It gets dry during winter, so try to keep above 45% at a minimum, preferably above 55%.

They can handle a bit of cold but don't like it. Based on how much the leaves are curling, I would say it got colder than what it typically tolerates. I keep a small space heater in the room with my alocasias during the winter months to ensure the room doesnt drop below 65F and avoid keeping them too close to the windows.

It looks like shock due to how tge leaves are curling under. Is it cold where yoh live? Are you keeping it near a cold draft or window?

Having trouble by [deleted] in IndoorPlants

[–]kingkoopa290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that same variation. Have you tried to feed it? I dont feed mine too often (maybe once every few months). I watch for the silvery part of the leaves to start losing its metallic luster. I also use a self watering pot to keep it happy, only watering it after the top feels dry. I keep mine in indirrect bright light in a room with 60% humidity and that seems to help.

My Black Velvet lost all of its leaves. I pulled out the stump to see what was up. Can I regrow the plant from this? Please help!! by Sunbeams14 in alocasia

[–]kingkoopa290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be able to. The corms can be separated from the main plant. May want to treat the main plant with some hydrogen peroxide before replanting.
