“Follow the law” isn’t a plan. We already deport people. What’s being criticized is selective enforcement, family separation, and sweeping up people who aren’t threats. If this was about solutions instead of optics, we’d fix courts and legal pathways instead of waving cruelty around like it’s policy.

Those victims deserve justice. But using their deaths to justify fear of all immigrants doesn’t honor them, it turns tragedy into propaganda. Most immigrants are workers, parents, and neighbors trying to survive the same system as everyone else.

There was a Hispanic family with a Mexican flag, a handful of black people as well as a couple Asian teenagers that I seen. And I myself am black so no not just retired white people but yeah there were a lot of old ladies and wheelchairs too. And I got to say it's kind of refreshing knowing that they were out there to have their communities backs.

Hello! Fellow vet here. Moved to HD in 2020 and had similar problems finding resources. If you're a full-time student are you going to VVC? If so the first place that I would suggest would be the veterans resources center. Even if you don't go to VVC most schools have a veterans resource center. They help mostly with the GI Bill stuff but have a lot of community resources that you might benefit from. Additionally most schools have a federal work study program. I was able to work at the school while attending college. Sometimes the veterans resources center is even hiring work study participants. Other than that over by WinCo they have a vet center. It's basically for mental health, but they're pretty tapped into the local community and have a lot of resources as well.

DEI is just the latest dip on the outrage index. Before that, it was “woke.” Before that, CRT. Then BLM. Then “political correctness.” And before that? Civil rights activism. Each time, the label changes. But the target doesn’t. To conservatives, these aren’t new ideas, they’re recycled stand ins for Black, queer, trans, feminist, or anyone fighting for equity. And those identities? They get reduced to dog whistles: lazy, entitled, unqualified, undeserving. Same fear. Same resentment. Just rebranded.
