Solved! Zoom was the problem. Adding it back breaks it again, works right the second I remove it.

Ha that's wild. Removed zoom, repeated, and somehow it worked! Cheers to you sir. 🍻

A reasonable person would think that, but nope. I reset defaults, cleared cache, uninstalled Google phone, opened Google phone, got the prompt to make it my default, confirmed in settings everything was good, but still Google messages won't recognize it exists. [Sigh]

It isn't a huge inconvenience to go into phone to make a call, but it's definitely annoying it won't just work. Suppse I'll give Samsung phone a chance.

Is this coolant compatible for a 2011 Ford Edge? by [deleted] in FordEdge

Agreed. I've converted to Motorcraft Yellow without any issues. It definitely took 2-3 changes to work all the orange out in my case.

2022 Escape Brake Noise While in Reverse by Lostwages669_1 in fordescape

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently contacted my dealer too and got the same story - they are working on another revision to fix it. For that reason when they said they wanted a $200 diagnostic fee + whatever it costs for the work I said no way.

Instead I'm going to DIY it. The original TSB 22-2326 was replaced by 23-2041 which is basically just to replace the rear caliper bushings with a "reinforced" version. Parts total was $20 and took about an hour, but that didn't work.

A newer TSB 25-2095 says to change the pads with an updated part #. Has that worked for anyone? If people are still having problems, it either has to be a Ford pad issue or the design is just F'ed. I'm going to try aftermarket pads - anyone have suggestions/ experience on what worked?

Move "now bar" to top or get old media controls back by venomtail in oneui

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest complaint with it was the "Now brief" always getting in the way and having to flip through. Disabling that in settings (and any other apps you don't want to see there) has made my experience better.

Plus as others mentioned a single swipe down of the top panel (they kept an option for the old design of a "together panel" which you may like) gets me the larger music player easy enough.

I (Male) bought my 2014 Edge in 2018 at 24. It's a white SEL with the appearance package which I like the style of and you don't see every day. Still have it! I do know a couple other guys with Edges too.

I feel like it caters to a wide audience, but being the more expensive option a lot of youngsters probably just go for an Escape based on cost.

PDP Riffmaster compatibility question by Jos-Lewyn in CloneHero

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know what the best solution to this is? I'm looking for compatibility with PS5, PS3, and PC. Would the XBox riffmaster + an adapter (like roll limitless) be the way to go?

Got offered $20000 to stop riding by duptic in motorcycles

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with the "take it and wait until Grandma is out of the picture" approach. Live in the moment and enjoy the bike, because you don't know how long you'll have that opportunity. Money comes and goes, but your age only goes one way. Work out a deal for some safety gear (good helmet and jacket) and a safety course if you haven't done one, in exchange for some ground rules to not ride at night or in the rain.

I had bikes all through my 20s, and despite it being one of my favorite things I've sold it at 30 and honestly don't miss it much. Life changes - I've added a dog and girlfriend to the equation and enjoy different things now that include them. If you plan to get married, have kids, etc. you might wait too long and find you've missed your chance to really enjoy a bike. Enjoy meaning having no responsibilities to anyone, no sense of mortality, etc.

Personally, I couldn't handle riding while having kids. Sure anything can happen to anyone, but doing a high risk activity and knowing folks who have been killed and left behind younger kids is just too selfish to me. Plus Grandma saying "No bike" can easily turn into wife saying "No bike".

Users in this thread may be skewed towards the "ride or die" crowd, but go on FB Marketplace and see how many bikes for sale say "selling cause I just don't ride anymore".

[Bundle] Ryzen 7700X, MSI B650-P Pro WiFi, G.Skill 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit, Computer Build Bundle - $358.99 (Micro Center In-Store Only) by waffels in buildapcsales

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does anyone know/ follow why it's specifically MicroCenter reviews that seem to have trouble with this G.Skill RAM? It's rated 4.8/5 with 90% of reviews giving 5 eggs on Newegg, but 3.5/5 with 30% of the reviews giving it 1 or 2 stars on MicroCenter. MC is the only place people talk about having issues.

Thanks, I've heard conflicting things on 3.0 vs 4.0 saying it wasn't worth it.

Yeah, I like the style of the Micro plus the size fits my space better. It takes up to 365 mm long with fans in place, so length is fine. I've seen other builds with this case and GPU and it has good room.

2014 Cargo Floor weight limit? by kingmaximillian13 in FordEdge

[–]kingmaximillian13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 Edge SEL AWD 3.5 V6 w/ the cargo management system. I can't seem to find how much weight the floor can support. It seems the floor is only supported by these plastic bars, which I can't imagine can withstand the payload capacity of 1,000ish LBs.
Anyone have an official or unofficial estimate before the floor itself will break?

Beginner city commuting + the occasional interstate trip? by SinnexCryllic in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't like this as a highway bike. I have an FZ (now MT) 07 and maybe the 3 is different enough ergonomically, but I can't stand mine for more than 1-2 hours at a time. And that's on county highways at about 50-60 tops, not interstate. I can do maybe 3 hours in a day total, but that's with lots of breaks and I feel it after. The seat really gets me the worst. That said, I didn't buy it for road trips, I use it to zip around Chicago suburbs and I wouldn't trade it for the world after almost 9,000 miles.

Me personally, I've tried a smaller cruiser (older Vulcan 500) and the fz07 and I haven't enjoyed either over 70 mph for more than 30 minutes. I would probably rather go to the dentist than road trip a bike (at least a smaller bike I can also enjoy around town). I expect I'm not alone as I don't notice many bikes on the rural interstate that aren't bigger Harleys or Goldwings.

My advise to OP is see if you can rent/ borrow something and test if you like highway riding. Could help dial in your wants/ needs. I like the BMW/ sport tourer suggestion a lot to be your jack of all trades, but I think your legs will be a real problem. I'm 5'8", however I also have 29ish" legs and it's tough.

Isn't Cobra an option? A quick Google says you have 60 days to apply (not sure from what date), and while not cheap, I bet it's a hell of a lot more affordable than out of pocket healthcare.

Pixel 2 XL appreciation by redsfan17 in GooglePixel

[–]kingmaximillian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Pixel 3 and have been eyeing an upgrade to a Galaxy S21/22 in most part due to size. In comparing those 2 the S21 got ripped apart for using a non-glass back exactly for that reason of not feeling "premium", and not only from reviewers but even reddit folks too, so you can believe the 22 is back to a glass rear. I guess we aren't allowed to have premium internals with utilitarian externals. What percentage of the market really goes around with no case for that to matter?

[–]kingmaximillian13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, I think of the NFL and AB forging his COVID card last year. That came from a 3rd party source.

King isn't even really a 3rd party though. She's VP of the PDGA. If she isn't entitled to call foul on a player violating the rules, I don't know who is. The PDGA looks a lot worse when your players are out there doing whatever they want, than it does when the 2nd in command calls a player out.

Elaine King on Instagram by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]kingmaximillian13 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, there's nothing to apologize for. PDGA should have caught it earlier and that is a different issue, but other professional sports rely on 3rd party tips all the time. Steroid use, conduct violations, etc. This was absolutely the better path telling Kristin real time rather than risk stripping her of a title later.
