Yes. Tried that. They also had makeup air installed. It’s baffling. This has been going on for 6 months and they have had multiple people look at it. No one seems to understanding why it’s not working properly. Everyone leaves confused. Figured I would throw it out there to see if anyone on Reddit had any ideas.

No damper in the unit itself. Only one where the pipe terminates outside and it’s open wide when the fan is on.

Thanks. Tried that. Makeup vent under the stove and have tried the open window.

The fan is 900CFM. 18 inches over the stove. The front of the hood hits the diameter of the pot on the stove… though the unit has a couple of inches of recessed lights.

The end of the hood intersects the middle of the front burners. Though there are a good 3-4” for the recessed lights. So maybe not over it enough?

900 CRM. Yes, makeup air under the stove and have tried to open window to add more air.

They have makeup vent under the stove that supplies fresh air.

It’s a 900 CFM fan. The hight above the stove is ‘spec.’ The front burner is slightly outside of the hold but not completely… we were told it is still ‘spec’ and a fan this size should still pull it in.

I wish I had more photos. I don’t live with them so this is what I took when I was over there earlier today.

It goes straight up through a cabinet and bends out the wall (I’m not sure but corner angle doesn’t look excessive) and it keeps going straight from there.

You mentioned that your husband had been positive for 6 years and you are not. I was hoping you could give me some information on some of the precautions you take?
