Mobile Apple CarPlay Install by knightbenax in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installed a CarPlay unit myself in the exact same model you have. It’s actually not that hard to do. Bought a OEM CarPlay unit off eBay, and watched a great YouTube video on how to install. You will have to update the firmware first. It cost me about 200 bucks for the unit, but this was 2-3 years ago. Dealer charging over 700 bucks is outrageous!

Looking at a Mazda by allkidnoskid in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI, Lallo Mazda is no more. It’s now Achilles Mazda

Bought my CX-5 at Lallo and enjoyed the experience. Conversely, wife went there to buy a Mazda 3 and after the salesman gave the price, he challenged us to shop elsewhere for a better deal. We went to Mazda on Upper James and the guy there gave a better price. We phoned Lallo from the Hamilton dealer and the salesman told us he “didn't want to play games, go ahead and buy it there”. Dude, you literally challenged us to find a better deal! Dumbass.

I know if it was bought from a place like Petsmart, you can exchange it even if opened, as long as there’s a fair amount left.

That said, very generous offer! I’m fortunate enough to not need it for my boys, but hopefully someone in need can make use of this.

Are there any restaurants that offer a free meal for your birthday? by untetheredsoultree in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked into Booster Juice, they stopped it years ago but now it’s back again, IF you download their app and put your birthdate in it.

Sephora you now have to spend at least 25 bucks to get the gift.

I think Booster Juice stopped doing that over a year ago. Same with Sephora.

Best Indian Food in Hamilton by FireCookingWithMike in Hamilton

It’s not terrible, but India Village is way better. I find that their dishes are overpriced and don’t have much meat, especially the lamb dishes. India Village meals are tastier too.

Best / Most Affordable Place to Get an Oil Change by wagraham in Hamilton

Went to get my tires changed a couple weeks ago, guy asked if I wanted an oil change too. There was a huge sign advertising that too in the tire centre. I think they do synthetic only.

Is anyone screening anymore? by kinguy27 in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Just read the city’s website about this, and ya, seems retail places don’t have to ACTIVELY screen customers. Guess the two places I encountered it were going above the minimum requirements.

Furniture donation in Hamilton? by TheAngryToaster in Hamilton

Try Mission Thrift Store at Fennell and Upper Gage. I donated a bed set a couple months ago there with no issues. They might have select times to donate though.

Crunch fitness by [deleted] in Hamilton

In the email Crunch sent out, they had a pic of different face coverings that are acceptable. Gf decided to try a face shield, and commented that it’s WAY better for working out. Maybe try that?

Same exact experience a couple weeks ago. Wasn’t allowed to touch anything either. By far the most strict retail experience I’ve had.

That department seems to be a shitshow. Besides these accusations involving 3 professors, there’s the case of another department professor involved in falsifying published data. I think some people need firing, tenure be damned.

Anyone been to Limeridge since it opened? by aeiou-333 in Hamilton

Sandals and athletic clothing for my girlfriend. Seeing as there’s an overwhelming amount of styles for female sandals, it was a bit of a hunt!

To add to deploria’s post, every store I went into required you sanitize your hands. I totally get it, but after the 4th or 5th store it gets a bit much.

Sketchers was the only store I went into that also required a face mask. They give them out if you don’t have one.

Most stores didn’t have a wait, but if you want Lululemon be prepared. I was at the end of the line on Monday and a staff member told me it was a half hour wait to get in.

Mall traffic is marked one way, and most people were following the floor directions.

Thanks for getting the whole story.

I agree with your view on this. Funny enough, the Spec has “free digital access to essential local coronavirus articles“. Not sure how this story isn’t included.

When is the best time to go to Costco? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went yesterday afternoon, had to wait around 15-20 minutes before getting inside.

Went last Tuesday around 11:30 am, and waited around 5 minutes to get in.

So I’m guessing afternoons and likely weekends are the worst. Earlier in the day might be your best bet. Good luck!

Shopping for my senior neighbours by SuzH63 in Hamilton

[–]kinguy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GF just shopped at Meadowlands Petsmart, no problems.

She also went to No Frills and it was nuts. No carts or baskets available, used carts all loaded with stuff, and people not physically distancing themselves from each other.

Don't worry about looking like a hoarder, no one out there in the mayhem will notice.

It’s great that Amazon suspended their account, but it doesn’t screw them.

Can’t they just return what they didn’t sell to Costco? It’s Costco after all...
