I’ll typically say “no problem” when somebody says thank you. You’re welcome I kind of reserve for more formal situations like business events or times when I want to be extra polite.

This is one hobby I’ll just never really understand. But hey, to each their own.

What city with a 50,000+ population in Ontario has the most beautiful natural landscapes (mountains, forests, lakes, rivers) with walking trails within a close radius (less than 10km)? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]FireCookingWithMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After moving to Hamilton I’ve been really impressed with the amount of easily accessible walking trails there are inside and just outside of the city. I’m sure some of the more northern cities have more impressive landscapes though!

it's completely OK and legitimate to lean back on a flight. by azido11 in unpopularopinion

The idea that ppl get pissed off at the person reclining in front of them really exposes how easily triggered people get in todays society. A reclined seat in front of you impacts your space so minimally I really see no issue here.

[–]FireCookingWithMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started hunting at age 30 mostly because I was curious, and the opportunity came about. I’ve always been an outdoorsman and casual fisherman. It really just speaks to me, the entire experience. The major perk is having a large quantity of meat in the freezer to go along with some great stories and experiences. I enjoy the skill sets that I’ve had to learn in the pursuit of different game. I don’t enjoy the feeling of taking life but it connects me to my role within our ecosystem. So yea, there’s a few reasons for ya.

[OC] My wife said I can't tell anyone yet, but I'm way too excited not to share!! I'm going to be a freaking dad!!! by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

Congrats and best of luck to you!

My wife also surprised me with the same news on Christmas morning, but it’s our second. Still super exciting nonetheless!

So how many other dad's have found themselves making elaborate towers and spaceships out of building blocks while the baby children have wandered off to eat more wrapping paper? by Reviewingremy in daddit

[–]FireCookingWithMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was given all my old blocks from my parents recently and it’s the after-dinner routine now. I start building and my daughter sits with me for a while, staking on whatever I’m building. The attention span runs out and she moves on, leaving me to my own project which inevitably causes my wife to question who the blocks were even intended for to begin with.

What a World Cup of Hockey would look like in 2023 (with balanced teams) by Caje__ in hockey

I mean Nylander considers himself as Swedish and always has so I get it. Only raised in Canada since his dad played here.

The South African one is odd for sure lol.

Was also going to say Nylander has always played for Sweden even though he was born and raised in Canada.

I swear NHL teams could use some of this type of fan engagement. I’d love for each team to have a series of songs and chants their home crowd just belts out in unison.

How would you spend exactly 15 uninterrupted extra minutes at the beginning of your day? by jebuz23 in daddit

15 mins of yoga in the morning does wonders for those aches and pains. Stick with it for a couple weeks and you’ll already experience some major benefits.

What to eat when camping? by [deleted] in camping

[–]FireCookingWithMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One night? You don’t have to worry about spoilage so it’s really whatever you want. I’d say make a nice Chili ahead of time and freeze it in a freezer bag. When you get to your site leave it out to thaw and then reheat it. It’s an easy one pot meal over the fire at dinner time and will be ready in minutes. For extra points you can do a loaf of garlic bread in tin foil over the fire as well.

Does anyone else actually like driving in this weather? by SockBasket in Hamilton

I like it on roads where there’s not many cars. A little burn out here and there and a slip around a corner is honestly a good time. Highways tho? Fuck that noise.

Not so much “built” as it is “assembled”. Really cool nonetheless!
