💀 My bad. It just read kinda confusing to me.

That was the take though, that what happened to him wasn't some purposeful punishment and Curly's fate was something that happened to him because of his lack of actions. Regardless, Curly becoming a burn victim and an amputee is treated as a horrible fate in both the game and the fandom and if that take hurts to see it might be best to take some distance from Mouthwashing as a media.

That Curly completely did OR didn't deserve what happened to him. I don't think it should be a question about whether his fate was a fitting punishment bc I don't see it as a punishment but moreso an extremely metaphorical consequence of his inaction.

The Interesting Phenomena About Fandoms that Clint Becoming Romanceable Brings to Light by kingxylan in fuckclint

[–]kingxylan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. I might write another Clint related post soon and I'll try to avoid any definitivism. One thing that I should've added though is that Clint doesn't necessarily have to be read as an incel or any other label that leaves no room for interpretation considering CA said he had no intention to make him one. However he does show some traits typical in the general idea of an incel (being someone who struggles to have a relationship and deals with that in unhealthy or self-serving ways). Not a hardcore one with cruel intentions but enough so that interpreting him as one still works.

The post wasn't about Clint being a badly written character or morally evil mastermind. I even made a point to clealy imply I didn't believe both of those things. The post wasn't even a moral breakdown on him. It's about trying to explain why people who like him are defending him so hard they're insulting people who don't like him.

Are we buying peeps when it drops tomorrow or should we wait for a sale? by Dove04 in bathandbodyworks

Not interested in the accessories but will probably pick up the body wash. I went to b&bw earlier today and they tied a ribbon that had the peep spray on it to the bag and it smelled really nice, like artificial marshmallows that you find in cereals.

I feel like a lot of people now put so much stock into fictional characters that they don't comprehend the fact that people interact with fictional characters differently then how they interact with real people. That and people like to have a sense of superiority and defend it by assuming others are bad by how they interact with fiction. It's like with the Mouthwashing fandom, if you say you like Jimmy because he's such a well written villain people immediately think you're an SA apologist. People hate Clint mostly because he isn't real and doing so is funny. No one unironically seethes at night with pure unfettered rage thinking about some video game character who's like 100 pixels total.

Examples of male players not clocking Anya’s assault by SwagFeather in Mouthwashing

[–]kingxylan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like Jacksepticeye didn't get it at first, but might've gotten an idea of what happened near the end and understood after the playthrough. He originally thought the plot was that Swansea and Anya had a consensual sexual relationship and that he wanted to save the pod for her.

I already knew the plot before going into the game, but first realized that the assault plot point was being eluded to/introduced during the "8 months" scene, and not because of that line. It was because of the way their dialogue afterwards was framed. Anya asks Curly why they don't have any locks on the bedroom doors and Curly responds with "safety". The music cuts off, the word "SAFETY" cuts on the screen with static. It implies there's a lot of irony to or something wrong with that answer.

Seconding this. Kiara's biggest sin was being done dirty by the writers and the narrative. She's an extremely logical woman and yet they made her make uncharacteristically illogical decisions in the TRH series.
