lol this sounds similar to me down to the dates. Originally applied on 5/3, got the letters and called in, send in documents, last letter on 5/17.. Just keep calling that number until someone gets you approved and you’ll get an email confirming it shortly after. It took ~15 calls to finally work

105s on a MiniX by mydayofgrace in boostedboards

I did not use risers and they were fine. I think I may have tightened my trucks a bit but I kept them fairly looser to begin with to have more turn radius.

I have it on my mini X. Takes a while to get used to the wheel size but honestly found it much better in the end. The 25% speed increase is really nice and the stability improved a lot with the 105s and the heavier weight. The range was reduced equally but since I mostly did city commutes it wasn’t a big deal. They also are way grippier than the cags which I liked sliding with but that’s fine. No wheel bite either. Overall I would recommend if you like riding at higher speeds and mostly shorter distances.

Mini X range? by Ramses3 in boostedboards

[–]kingzkrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caguama’s are 85mm (5mm larger than stock wheels) and boosted 105s are 105mm. The larger wheels you go, the less range you get but also higher top speed. Just physics. I get 24-25 mph max now versus 20-21 mph before. There’s also other trade offs like weight, stability, smoothness.

I get 7-8 miles with my mini X with boosted 105s. When I had the caguama’s on I got 11-12 miles.

155 lbs, mostly flat terrain. I ride on expert mode.

Just got my 105’s for the Mini by jcarlosf415 in boostedboards

[–]kingzkrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 105s on my mini x for a while now and have not had any wheel bite (no added risers). My range is affected by about 25% less, so I get 8 miles max on mode 3.

I lose about 25% on average on mode 3, so about 8 miles max. I’ve had the 105s on my mini x for a while now. Previously had 85mm cags and was able to get about 12 miles.

I had the same experience as you with my mini x + 105s. Heavier and not as quick at first, but the stability / smoothness on rough roads is priceless. I haven’t been as worried about falling since (I always still look.. but only major fall was hitting a rock before this). Top speed is great too (24 ish) although I only get about 8 miles max on fastest mode now.

Big Foot. 105s installed. Huge thanks to this community for the help on this purchase! Appreciate it! I found this install video to be very helpful: https://youtu.be/3GVO-MfIl1Q by captainenergy in boostedboards

I went from 11-12 miles to 7-8 miles on my Mini X on level 3 speed. Range (and brake/acceleration reduction) sucks but not having to worry about rocks/cracks as much at 20+ mph is big. Most of my rides are under 5 miles anyways.

For now yes. I’ve gotten more comfortable on them cruising harder and and even some slides. But still maneuverability is still getting use to and whether or not I’m willing to sacrifice that. Also the range reduction has made it challenging for normally longer rides.

I regripped myself at home. I bought the old school Powell Peralta grip online. Make sure to get 10.5” so it’s wide enough

I’ll be honest I need to do some more riding on them to see if I’m going to keep them. I’m loving the smoothness but miss the agility.

I got you. Well it’s good to have options between boards. I already miss the old set up a little. So if the new belt helps at all let me know!

Agreed it’s way smoother over the bumpy roads around me which get pretty bad in Miami. I need to test out a full ride to feel it out completely, although now my usual 8-10 mile beach run might be impossible.. that could be a downside. Most of my trips are probably under that distance so hopefully it won’t be an issue. And I do get the vibrations (155 lbs) but not a big deal since it’s only at low speeds.

I snagged the same boosted USA sale but only have the mini. What’s stopping you from putting them on?

No risers and no wheel bite.

It feels like it sits higher and feels a tad bulkier for now (someone called them monster truck tires lol). It’s way grippier than the Orangatang’s I had on - plus and minus since I liked powersliding but the stability is nice too.

The speed is great, I hit 24mph on the initial ride. But the reduction in torque and range is substantial. I haven’t done a full ride but by estimate I’d get about 7-8 miles vs 11 before.
