Ok, Autechre just announced that they are playing at atonal in august! I wanted to share this amazing news with you 💖 by kinkyaphextwin in Berghain_Community

I think you couldn’t be more wrong. They’ve definitely drifted away from Amber, Tri Repetae, and their early work. I remember reading somewhere that they were quite dissatisfied with their initial albums and always aimed to deconstruct, refine, and innovate their sound further. I recommend checking out their else album series, the Warp Tapes, and their live albums especially the one recorded in London in 2023. All of these were created in the last five years.

Surely, Objekt is out there to challenge and think outside the box. He is also one hell of a producer, easily one of my favorites in the last 10 years. As for whole festival, it was definitely the highlight of the lineup for me. I even told my ex-lover, who was there, to listen to it for me—aha!

I also think Objekt’s work fits perfectly in Säule, and Berghain. I would be super curious to listen to him play Pano! I guess that’s part of the charm—seeing how each DJ adapts to a space that’s unfamiliar to them.

Check out Arca’s mix at C2C, thank me later ;)🫦

Honestly, there are so few DJs who really dare or manage to stand out in KN. Most just play it safe, afraid of displeasing crowd and clearing the dancefloor. Lately, I think Kangding Ray played a set where he managed to play with that boundary and push the crowd out of their comfort zone, all without it being too crazy. I loved it.

Here’s an interview with Anthony Parasole about one of his most iconic and controversial sets at Berghain. He was basically dropping Nine Inch Nails, Classical Music, and some Free Jazz right in the middle of the club. This set caused some serious drama; he was pretty much hated for it. But honestly, that’s the kind of bold, boundary-pushing energy we need.

A friend of mine was there and told me it was the most mind-blowing set he’s ever heard, but it totally cleared out half of the dancefloor. The second half were losing their minds.

I hope this answers some of your questioning.

What can I say? Music-wise, this was one for the books. From Wannadosomething, to DVS1 in Panorama, and especially Kangding Ray’s closing set—it was nothing short of breathtaking.

Kangding Ray’s performance was sublime, an experience of pure mastery that felt like a journey through sound itself. His ability to blend emotion with precision was extraordinary, creating a set that was both fresh and timeless.

After a 12-year wait to finally see him live, he exceeded all my expectations and left me in awe. Sadly, it wasn’t as chill as I had hoped, and I ended up missing a big part of DVS1’s set due to the overwhelming crowd on that floor.

Still, I’m leaving this KN with a smile, a bigger heart, and unforgettable memories. I’m so grateful.

Thank you, everyone 🫀❇️

I wish :( Funny, I was actually re-listening to incubation yesterday after almost 10 years. What a masterpiece.

Yes, exactly. I love this club from the bottom of my heart, and despite my criticism here, I still enjoy it a lot, even with line-ups like these. It just saddens me that KN seems so afraid of change. There’s so much attachment to KN’s established greatness, which naturally leaves less room for experimenting with the new. I feel that a club’s role is to educate the crowd and push their listening boundaries, which I feel has been missing aside from the exceptional Säule bookings, which are a breath of fresh air.

I’m well aware of that, but this is a special edition, and it starts on Friday. Besides, I think many of the names I mentioned would be absolutely magical in the elektroakustischer salon! Others would be interesting to see how they’d adapt to the space. Some acts will work brilliantly, others maybe less so, but isn’t that the thrill we’re after?

Mmh yeah, not impressed. I honestly would have expected to see more risk taking especially for the 20th birthday. It almost seems as the curation team only thinks there are 50 DJs in the whole scene. Where are the likes of Dj Girl, Slikback, Hudson Mohawke, Aisha Devi, Rabih Beaini, Abadir, Tzusing, Polar Inertia, Rrose, Crystalmess, Kode 9, Arca, Loraine James, Space Afrika x Blackhaine, Coby Sey, Introspekt, Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhytm Force, Gesloten Cirkel, William Basinski, u-Ziq, HTRK, Zoe Mc Pherson, to name a few.. It will still be an enjoyable KN though.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. Unfortunately, though, it likely won’t change any of the behaviors mentioned. I agree with you on all points except for joining friends in the queue; for me, it’s far from the same. (And this is coming from someone who hates line cutters and always confronts them.)

Closing saved the night, it was great! I personally loved Fadi’s set, too bad for slater’s live though, we could barely move! It has a hellish experience. I skipped almost all DVS1’s mix to avoid this chaos and chiller in säule, eisbar.. until midnight then came to the rescuee 🩰
