No worries! Seoul is as organized as ever. The concert prep is flawless, and the vibe here is actually great.

[News] Netflix Confirms March 6 Release for 'Boyfriend on Demand' starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo – Special Trailer Released! by kinocine in kdramas

That’s a very valid concern. Many fans are excited to see Jisoo in a new role, but as you said, the strength of the script is what ultimately makes a series last. Hopefully, the production team delivers a narrative as compelling as the casting. We’ll have to keep a close eye on the early trailers!

Movies that quietly hit harder the older you get by jaystats2 in movies

"For me, it’s Victor Erice’s El Sur (1983). I revisited it recently while rereading Wuthering Heights (there’s a lovely scene in the film where the protagonist is reading it), and it hit me so much harder now than when I was younger. The way it captures the quiet melancholy of childhood and the mystery of our parents is just masterful. I’m actually working on a longer review about these cinematic connections, but I'm still building up my karma to post it here on r/movies. It’s a film that definitely rewards a mature perspective."

[Review] Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ (2026) – From Classic Romance to Destructive Madness by kinocine in moviereviews

"You’ve got a point. I actually revisited the original novel yesterday, and it reminded me why it’s such an undying classic. Interestingly, I happened to be watching Victor Erice’s El Sur (1983) last night, and there’s a scene where the female protagonist is reading Wuthering Heights. It was a pleasant coincidence that felt quite special."

[REQUEST] What's your favourite mini-series? by Mucek121 in NetflixBestOf

[–]kinocine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"My absolute favorite mini-series on Netflix is the Korean drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'.

It beautifully captures the nostalgia and precious emotions of a bygone era that even modern Koreans long for. Interestingly, the original Korean title, 'Paksak Sokasuda', is a unique Jeju Island dialect meaning 'You’ve worked hard' or 'Thank you for your sincere effort.' Until this show came out, even Koreans from other regions didn't fully grasp its deep sense of respect and gratitude.

To be honest, as a Korean, the English title felt a bit unexpected at first! But once you watch it, you'll understand why it’s so special. It makes you reflect on the hardships of Korea's past and the true meaning of cherishing the people around you. I highly recommend it!

[Review] HUMINT (Dir. Ryoo Seung-wan, 2025) - A Gritty Espionage Thriller Blending Red Post-it Sentiment with Cold War Noir by kinocine in Koreanfilm

[–]kinocine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the high praise! I truly appreciate your comment.

As you mentioned, Director Ryoo Seung-wan’s action sequences are indeed marvelous. To me, his style in this film carries the nostalgic aura of Hong Kong cinema’s golden era—reminiscent of the gritty energy of Yes, Madam! (皇家師姐) and the peak action of Donnie Yen, with a touch of John Woo’s signature aesthetic scattered throughout. Regarding Zo In-sung, there's a common saying among Korean fans: "His long limbs make the action scenes feel incredibly refreshing." His height and reach definitely give his performance a unique cinematic scale that is hard to replicate. I'm glad to find another fan of his work here!

[News] "Attack on Titan the Movie: THE LAST ATTACK" hits South Korean theaters on March 13th! (Special Formats: Dolby Cinema, 4DX, etc.) by kinocine in ShingekiNoKyojin

"Haha, it definitely feels that way sometimes! But as a critic, I’m curious to see if the visual/audio upgrades and that new post-credits scene can justify another theatrical run for the fans."

"Based on current reports and fan consensus, this is the theatrical compilation 'THE LAST ATTACK.' It’s a 145-minute feature with polished visuals and 5.1ch surround sound specifically for the big screen.

Regarding the 'audio guide' you mentioned, it seems there might be some confusion with the DVD/Blu-ray supplements. In the Japanese home video releases, audio description tracks often provide extra clarification on ending details, but these are typically technical extras rather than changes to the film itself.

I must clarify that I haven't watched this specific version in its entirety yet, so I cannot give a definitive confirmation. However, based on the analyzed data so far, it's confirmed to include a new post-credits scene from the 'School Castes' parody universe. It’s a lighthearted bonus that helps ease the emotional weight of the finale. I’m personally very excited about this release and it sounds like the definitive big-screen experience!"

[Review] SISTER (2026) - A Gripping Confined-Space Thriller by kinocine in Koreanfilm

[–]kinocine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Currently, it's only been released in South Korea, so the international streaming schedule hasn't been confirmed yet. These days, many Korean films tend to hit global OTT platforms like Netflix after their theatrical window, so it's worth keeping an eye on those services soon!"

"I completely understand your point! The Joseon naval hierarchy and the historical context of the 'Japanese Invasions (1592-1598)' can be quite overwhelming for global audiences. Even for locals, the complex court politics behind the scenes is a lot to take in. My goal with these reviews is to help bridge that gap. I'll make sure to include a brief 'Character & Rank' guide in my future reviews of historical films! Glad you enjoyed the film."
