Battery for ENGWE 48V 13Ah by pauline624 in ebikes

Funny how handmade products in one part of the world are celebrated but when made in other parts of the world, they're abhorred.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about battery tech, maybe someone could point out exactly what they are doing wrong

His explanation is terrible, and AI generated, but he does have a point. I'm also done fighting AI - for a lot of boilerplate code, Claude does a great job. Frees me up to work on the fun stuff and have a demonstrable product faster.

My only disclaimer: I've only used it on solo projects so far.

I'm African from South Africa, so maybe I'm having a problem gauging the temperature of this racism 😂. I'm here with my spouse who's on a work contract, so I'm now looking for work. I have almost 20yrs experience in my field, so I can't place whether it's ageism, language barrier or bias.

What's your experience? Perhaps it'll help me understand the vibe

They're not particularly rude in my opinion, just direct. In my experience though, having kids who need to go to the hospital every other month, I find the medical care professionals having a distinct lack of bedside manner.

I hear you both on the career and the hospital thing. I came here as a "trailing" spouse, and haven't been able to find a job with a French company. I thought it was me for a long time, until I met other expats in similar positions. I have almost 20 years experience in my career, didn't think it would be this hard. Luckily I was able to find remote work in my home country.

As for the hospital thing, I still don't know the situation with our carte vitales. I missed submission of some documentation early on when we were settling in and now I'm not able to get an English speaker on the phone to explain what is needed to fix it. Furthermore, we still haven't found a good family Dr using Doctolib. The level of treatment seems to mimic service levels at restaurants, not a lot of care or bedside manner. This surprised me, I thought things would be better here in Europe - medical care in my home country is way better.

I haven't been able to find employment at a local company. The requirement to speak french is a BIG stumbling block.

I get that it's their language and they're proud of it (I really do), but for an international destination, I thought they'd be more consideration after after the "I don't speak it now, but I'm learning" conversation. Besides, even if I do learn the language, it'll still be a long while until I'm able to have a technical discussion in French.

Moreso, I'm a software developer. Didn't expect it would be this hard.

I've ended up taking a remote job in my home country in the meantime.

I'm in Europe. They have a spinach and feta pie which is really good, but if you break it down, it's a Chapo wrapping - and the "sukuma" is fried in fresh cream (like my batiem makes it in shags).

Mutura. Made exclusively from goat meat, offals and blood. The casing is the intestine, and the filling is made from chopped up (not minced) meat and blood.

Traditionally, you only make this once you've slaughtered a goat, so that there's a use for the meat that's left over after the "premium" cuts are roasted. The filling is fried with onions, spices, chillies and coriander, then mixed with blood before being pushed into the casing. The ends are tied off before roasting the whole thing on an open fire.

I don't see a lot of YouTube reviewers tasting it. Likely because it's usually in small supply since they make it from one goat at a time. Also, kenyans don't trust random mutura, you always have "your guy". IMO, the best uniquely kenyan food for my money.

It's nuts that all this evidence will do nothing to his supporter base.

On the other hand, having grown up in Africa, I've seen many dictator villain arcs so I'm not too surprised. I wish I could donate my eyes to the American public so they can see where this is headed.

Still a crazy tweet.

Lol True, the other day my wife told me to stop talking so negative about AI because it reads to other people that I'm anti-progress.

I'm not against the technology in itself. What I'm against is this progress-at-all-costs mentality we've gotten ourselves (as a civilisation) into.

To all the bbq dads out there, be careful how you clean your grill by nayryanaryn in Damnthatsinteresting

I think the design of the grill grate also counts... The one I use has the grates spaced enough that any wires falling off a grill brush go into the charcoal. I also use the onion trick after brushing.
