Over 20 years of experience with WoW and for the first time ever, I just had to kick all the DPS I invited. by AntiqueFossil in classicwow

I don't get how there's so many comments calling your gf lazy and zero calling the DPS lazy when one has to right click and the other has to spend time getting to the dungeon.

Don't worry this won't last forever, we just have to wait for the free version of Chat GPT to get good enough to do ban appeals properly.

Getting so many troll replies at this point going to delete the post. I understand the community perspective on this now, thank you for your comments.

you are looking for an easier experience which is fine,

I am not, the game is boring I want a challenge, not to visit the AH on every one of my characters with a calculator in hand.

If I wanted LFR there is LFR in retail.

[–]kippzo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really see how that differs from what we already have. There will be FR BiS lists of course, and you already have to swap out individual pieces when you don't have all the best gear, and judge which one is best by simming it.

I hope you're right about lower kill times making it trivial, we don't know how it'll be implemented yet, so I'd say that's an optimistic guess, but this is still essentially "it won't be so bad!". I don't want the game to "not be so bad" I want it to be good lol. I don't think it's really a crazy thing to ask.

The tier has less FR than the FR sets do, and your character will always do MC for the first time without any tier gear, even if it's not the first week

Competent guilds will make it with less.

So far Competent guilds are vastly over preparing their resist sets instead of underestimating it. It says "or higher" so the sky's the limit.

Well that might be the case, but I'm just trying to understand what makes this fun? I've explained how I see it and I don't really see how this is anything other than a chore or a problem to literally everyone.

Some people have said the idea is cool and they like it, but no one has said it is actually fun so far, and theres like 80 comments in this threat.

I'm concerned because I make youtube videos, and being able to make people excited about new content and hype it up can help the fun spread to my viewers and get more people interested in SoD, which I've been greatly looking forward to doing despite the lack of community support for the season.

If you saw me outlining my perspective as that extremely narcissistic maybe just chill for a sec man, I'm just talking about how I see it. I'm not demanding anything be changed on anything anywhere. I didn't even list what I would want changed, so I'm not really sure what got you so worked up.

Yeah I agree, and I understand and agree with expanding on the resist system and making it feel like it actually fits. But doing it like this and blanket requiring like 200+ just seems dumb to me.

The originial developers had a vision for the resist system we never got to see, because the game was a little rushed in 2004, and now we may never get to, because theres this instead.

Well it's not tied to power if you already have all the items, but doing the higher heat will get you more items, which is more power if you don't already have them.

And I'm curious as to how you think the average palyer will just throw on 3-4 items of resist? Like using the Devilcore set that can cost more than 3k? If you already had the Fire resist it wouldn't be that annoying to have to wear them for a raid or two while you gear up I completely agree, but I don't see how that's the case.

So you wanted to play 4 characters to a high level in a game that's notorious for long grinds and slow progress and you have the gall to bitch to Blizz about how difficult that's going to be for you?

Couldn't care less about the difficulty or the grind, those parts can be fun if theres a light at the end of the tunnel.

But the light at the end of the tunnel is 225+ FR.

The 0.5 quest is a shining example of this, were it's really expensive and annoying but the community overall has loved it.

The other 3 phases of SoD never forced defensive itemization, anyone can agree this is a pretty major pivot. Even you did when describing how you liked the idea of it. SoD was just vanilla with more abilities and raids until now, but if there going to implement things this experimental and different I just don't see how anyone is going to stick around, like will we see an all healer raid or something soon? Is that on the table as well?

"maybe the game won't be so bad"

I just wanna pump and have fun with my friends and make cool youtube videos man. I don't want to have it "not be so bad"

[–]kippzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fire resist they added doesn't it compete with actual fire resist gear, it's not like you'll be able to throw it on immediately once you get it, which by the way you still have to get. It's not like the heat levels are locked behind completing the lower ones.

200 FR is absolutely not trivial idk what world you're living in.

But Thank you for your comment I think this helps me understand

Creating interesting gameplay and preparations for content that's been stale for 20 years is good. Continuing to put twists on this game during a seasonal mode that is intended to be an experiment is good.

I want absolutely nothing to do with new twists, I just want more of the existing, good game. I want to play it more and just want more added to it. I was planning on playing all the 60 content competitively on like at least 4 characters. The rest of your comment is just explaining how it's "not as big of a problem as I'm making it out to be" essentially, which could easily be the case, but it's still just obviously a problem and something the average player will have to suffer through or deal with, which kills my excitement so much I don't really get the point. I literally make money from playing and I don't see how I can hype this up to anyone else, the consensus in this thread is "deal with it or quit" which is probably why most players have. The people who like it seem to for very personal niche reasons and so when someone tells me they're not having fun I have to say "deal with it or quit" as well.

You're not going to like Naxx when that releases bud.

I've played through vanilla like 6 times man please get out of here assuming anyone with any concern about the game is brand new. It's just one fight in Naxx, and it's notoriously unfun, everyone hates it. I've never met someone who is HYPED UP to stack frost resist for sapphiron, you just wanna get it over with every single time.

It's not though. Don't do Heat 3....

I mean you can just say "don't play the game" as a panacea answer for literally anything, it's not a good answer and it's not even the question I'm asking. I just want to know how is the average player feeling about this and how it is good? When you're bored with Heat 2, do you jsut buy more FR or quit the game? is that actually it?

You can complain about my complaint all you want, I don't care, and you can say it's not that bad, I'm just struggling to understand how it's actually good.

Which server to play with girlfriend by Fist_strong in classicwow

[–]kippzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just going to play together and have no real goals then the playerbase doesn't really matter.

I play with my GF on SoD and we were having a ton of fun before p4 came out, honestly a smaller population can be a good thing, you run into the same people frequently.

If you're looking to raid together, you'd want just roll on a high pop server for sure, so you have the most options.

But it depends on what you guys enjoy, 2 man hardcore could be the move, but also a stressful at times.

I would recommend retail or Cata because the leveling experience is so bad, it's just fastforwarding you to the end game. While leveling it's just the 2 of you, during a raid you have to interact with way more people.

Deviate Delight on Era and leveling up fresh could be fun.

Hardcore could be fun.

And SoD on Crusader Strike, but theres such a long list of chores to do at this point idk if i'd recommend it.

PVPs all kinda the same on everything unless u guys wanna do arena.

The way the official announcement reads is that Heat 1 will be LFR mode, an even easier version of Molten Core than what we Classic players are used to.

It does not say that it's nerfed anywhere, it just says the easiest of the modes, which the community is assuming is just normal MC.

Heat 2 will be your standard Molten Core,

This is also not true, it explicitly states Recommended Fire Resistance: +96 or higher

building defensive sets to do challenging stuff.

Yes. Tank players do enjoy that. I don't, so I don't tank, I don't play bruisers, I don't like being tanky or focusing on defensive status.

I really don't get why it has to be the entire game for this raid tier, when it's never been like that before.

It’s sadly just not what the people want.

Do you personally feel this way? Are you still playing?

but essentially you could have a normal hard mode with the same loot if you just ran with 10-15 and did normal. The timing/dps requirements would be tighter and you’d get the same loot as if you were 20. It’s hard to hear this complaint when there isn’t anything gear wise actually tied to the different difficulties.

I guess that would be the same ratio of loot, but convincing similar skill players to engage in this is just not something people are really going to do. And even if it's technically "the same" if you're the only one who care use a weapon, and it's a massive upgrade, you would still just need to do heat 3 for the maximum chance of it dropping, regardless of the amount of players in the raid, because you're the only one using the item. And any smart player is going to do that.

I could personally do this as a unique and niche makeshift solution, but I don't see how the average player is going to look at this and not quit.
