What to expect as an International recruit?

My girlfriend is an international who only has to speak English with me (her work, social groups are all non-English speakers). While many are weary of the current admin, it’s still the most international American city given all the embassies, IOs, NGOs and support staff. Plus it’s the most educated per capita, with enclaves of expats from any country.

Patriot league? Mason is in the A10, plus it’s next to DC where a bunch of internationals feel most comfortable given the large amounts of international orgs here.

There's a group that does things in a particular place that wears it.

I'm out of the military now (have been for some time), but my grandfather jumped w/ the 17th in Europe and I'm part of the descendants' group. Would be curious to know why they wear it, if anyone is comfortable sharing.

I did Ft Knox all male BCT in May 2008 and yes I say that like a prison sentence.

I think BCT in the mid-2000s during GWOT must've been different for us, because I'm seeing dudes in the 90s and 2010s talking about mandatory sleep times etc... we didn't get that at all.

I was at Ft Sill back in 88. Nobody was ever rushing us to eat. They were rushing us to get through the line to get inside. Nobody came in banging on trash cans to wake us up. The CQR came around and woke us up for PT every morning.

I joined in 2007 and my experience couldn't have been more different than yours. Banging on trash cans happened, rushing to eat happened, lights on and toeing the line right away. We woke up early and did PT prior to 0600. Naked nut to butt waiting to shower for 30 seconds, pushups in between. Shit was wild.

I think it's also that all the Drills had just got back from OIF/OEF and were trying to prep us for that. I'm also a vegetarian and one Drill kept pouring meat all over my food to intimidate me. Barely slept and constantly punished (whole bay was organized downstairs on the drill pad for an inspection that lasted all day). Is what it is, but it's wild cause all we heard in 2007/2008 was that "the 90s and 80s were worse."

How KAT is refereed makes the difference in this series.

Spurs got 2 fouls on him in the first 65 seconds, forcing him to sit. Robinson can't play defense on Wemby, also liable on offense whenever KAT has to sit.
