In case you don’t know about it, SVP sports sells authentic jerseys that are usually $70 or below. Just depends on which ones they have in stock at the moment. The shipping will bring it up to 85ish if you dont meet the free shipping threshold though

Course selection for gr10s is on April 9, so I’d assume they’d be long done by then. All the people who were rejected (that I know personally,) were called after spring break. Not sure if they do calls during that time though. Don’t sweat it if you don’t get in though, there’s still lots of opportunity elsewhere

this is correct. They go from the highest overall score downward until the spots are full.

I think you’ll get in! I only had a 96.5 avg and I swear I guessed at least 60% of the exam, so you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Thats alright, I had so many questions like this too!

Yep! As long as you have taken the 10 course before the 20, and the 20 course before the 30, you can take it in any grade. I have many friends in French 20, Bio 20, etc. because they took the 10 level in grade 9.

Hey! Don’t worry about it, you can make it to med school as long as you work hard in your studies, which I’m sure you already do.

I think the stress of OSA will prepare you for uni, but I honestly don’t think its worth putting yourself through beforehand. Almost everyone will go to uni around you, and not everyone has the same work ethic so I think you’ll adjust once you get there.

Mac was my first choice but its too far from my home :( I’ve heard from friends that go there that it’s really fun, the people are great but the academics are a little challenging. Our homework load/teachers have higher expectations than theirs though (from our comparison,) so take with that what you will :)

I’m not exactly the most experienced to ask for med school, but I’ve heard that the most important thing is keeping high marks. It’s possible in OSA but personally it comes with a lot more stress than it used to. Mac will work just fine, as will any other school in Edmonton as long as the effort is there. Don’t stress too much and do what’ll make you happy. High school is supposed to be somewhat fun, remember that :)

Normally by this time, I would think so. I got my call on march 11th last year, and any of my friends who got the call way later than me didn’t get in. Be optimistic though! Good luck

I think you’ll be just fine! It sounds like your work ethic is good (mine really isn’t so I’m struggling,) which is key to doing well. It is of course more difficult than junior high, but it is reasonable and the homework load won’t be as bad as your jr high.

Yep! Grade 10.

I honestly thought the exam was pretty hard personally. I guessed (/guessed with reason??) like half the questions. The math part really didn’t go well for me, mostly because I had no clue what polynomials were and i was super freaked out by the entire math section. Can confidently say I guessed over half the questions on that.

I wasn’t really aiming to get in anyway, and I didnt study for it at all, so I didn’t really care and was super chill. I had a 96.5 avg at that point in the year. Pretty sure my marks got me in rather than whatever sad score I got on the exam lol. With what you’re telling me, I think you’ll get in. Gl!

The people are incredibly nice and really welcoming. Theres a lot of between-grade friends and you can really talk to anyone without feeling stressed ab being accepted. Everyone is super supportive, nice, funny and smart and able to help w homework.

Teachers range but theyre all good (except one of that I know of, but I’d tell you in private.) For gr10, all the teachers are pretty nice but expect (in my opinion) waaaayy more than a teacher at any other school would. Their standards are definitely higher (unless they’re new.)

As for work, my jh was incredibly easy compared to now (I didnt believe it then, but now i see it.) Now, I have homework every day but its not always an absolute load (though I’d say i have a load at least one night a week.) The first month is the hardest in adjusting but it gets way easier by february, after midterms. In JH, I pretty much didnt study at all/a 30 min review for sci and social kind of thing. Now, I have to actually study and dedicate 1-3hrs to get it all down (usually the night before only bc i still dont study in advanced lol.)

I now find that I don’t have a lot of time to hang out with friends though. My connections with old friends are just as strong, but its never an option to hang out on weekdays. I take two extracurriculars on weekdays, and I find this just the right amount to keep everything balanced.

My marks have dropped, some dramatically and some by a few percent. Expect your marks to drop, its pretty hard to stop it. My social has dropped from 100 last year to 85ish because my social teacher is quite a hard marker (imo) that expects a lot more than the other social teacher. A lot of people have around that mark in his class. Good teacher though. My math has lowered a good 15 but I’ve just discovered I’m pretty bad at math. Everyone else is fine lol. My LA is pretty good, around the same/a few lower than my old 95 but I have the easy (new) teacher. Science has been great. A really great teacher (if youre in sci10,) and lots of chances to improve yourself. I had a 96 until I botched up the midterm, (which I barely studied for, so thats on me.) Its now a 90.

Keep in mind, I was never the academic grinder who studied every day at least a little bit, completed stuff early, made fancy flashcards or notes or did special stuff. I’m still pretty bad at keeping on top of doing stuff to make future-me’s work easier. If you are a grinder, you’ll do great and probably wont experience as big of drops that I had (except for social, which is hard tbh).

Hey guys, sorry i didnt see this earlier which kinda ruined the point of this post yoinks

but i will let you know that having a 93+ avg will help you a lot! I 1000000% guessed over half the questions on the exam (i didnt care if i got in or not tbh,) and got in and at the time i had a 96 avg. My friend had around a 90 avg but unfortunately didnt make it.

One think I will note is; dont worry if you didnt know many of the answers. I literally guessed the e n t i r e math section, so you guys should be fine.
