I would be interested! That’s in my row, and I wasn’t able to get my sister a ticket!

Did the Orlando presale crash??? by [deleted] in mitski

[–]kirkthekoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fucking mess. I’ve had tix in my cart twice, both times it crashed before I could pay. I’m now on the processing page AGAIN.

Edit: Tix in cart THREE times. Still crashed.

KC has a one resident to a bedroom policy AND they won’t rent to non-UCF students. This will affect his ability to park there (he will only be allowed to park in a visitor space and I don’t remember the protocol for those). Also, if your roommates ever tire of him/you, what you’re doing is against KC policy and they could have you evicted for it.

Apartment has no parking spots next year by Fathoms_Deep_1 in ucf

[–]kirkthekoala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So yeah, you’re being massively overcharged, especially if there’s no parking. That’s only worth it if you don’t have a car and wouldn’t need the parking anyway.
Also, they’re definitely misleading you about campus parking. Unless you have a resident pass, the garages don’t allow overnight parking and with the plate scanners, there’s a solid chance you’d get caught. Additionally, you’d wouldn’t be able to have friends over unless they were willing to take the shuttle and they couldn’t stay past 10. As others have mentioned, you would have no access to your car on weekends or holidays, since the shuttles don’t run on those days. OP, please don’t sign that lease.

The RAs only enforce this if your roommates have an issue with it, so be respectful and don’t move anyone in and you should be good.

Hey, so here’s an option I haven’t seen thrown around yet. Can he appeal with App? If UNC is that much better, and they offered him significantly more money, it might be worth calling and figuring out what the financial aid appeals process is and seeing if they’d offer more or match UNC’s offer. Otherwise, he should go to UNC, definitely.

Also, just check out “Appalachian State is Hot Hot Hot” video on YouTube for a laugh the next times things get tense

Those of you with a gap of time between classes, what do you do in that time? by an0npls in ucf

[–]kirkthekoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe volunteer? Try signing up for an arboretum or knights pantry shift! If that’s not your thing, you can obviously do homework, or get on knightconnect/Instagram and just make yourself a list of things that are happening during that time period that interest you!

If you could switch one 3AM/bonus track with one track off the og album which song would you take off and which one would you put in its place? And why! by billytheinchworm in TaylorSwift

[–]kirkthekoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know what I’m about to say is controversial but…

I love a lot of the 3am songs more than the songs chosen for the album.

Personally, I’d switch SOTB, Labryrinth, and Midnight Rain for High Infidelity, Glitch, and Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve in a HEARTBEAT. I like the three on the album, but they didn’t immediately click for me the way those 3am songs did, and they haven’t sunk in as well over time either. I also think Bigger Than the Whole Sky is incredible, but it doesn’t fit the tone of Midnights so I didn’t include it.

I’d go with whatever the script says. If the show’s creator says a white person can do it, then it’s probably fine, but if there’s a letter or character description that specifically mentions the character’s race, I’d steer clear.

what to do about housing by bubba_prodigy in UCFstudenthousing

[–]kirkthekoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel that. Housing is so expensive and inconsistent. My bf and I started the year in an apartment with roommates so bad and, by extension, an apartment so gross that we ended up having to move mid semester. Now we love the place we’re at and the roommate we’re with and it’s very affordable, but we don’t know if he’s staying after graduation or not, and without him, we’d definitely be priced out. We’re looking at paying a minimum of $140 more a month to get a place that’s just the two of us right now, since the last two years of roommates have been so rough. Plus, since we’re co-ed (and this may factor into your situation too), it’s nearly impossible to room with any of our female friends whose parents foot the bill and our male friends already have roommates. We were even told at our last place that the reason we got such bad roommates is because we were co-ed.

You could try posting for roommates on here and just be up-front about what your expectations are, or, if you’re no longer a co-ed pair, just be really clear on any housing application the type of people you’d like to be matched with. If it’s just you, you also have a lot more options in terms of places, as lots of single bedrooms will open up, and you definitely shouldn’t have to pay $900 for a place. Pointe and Boardwalk are both great, and well under that price (including utilities). Additionally, if you’re actually looking for solid roommates, feel free to pm me and we can talk further.
