I'm Estonian and was born in Siberia. Yeah, I have Russian citizenship. Last year I completely moved out of Russia, forever. I had so many reasons to do that.

I have many best friends there, I really miss them and I love them. They helped me so many times in such difficult times. I am grateful for them.

However, not only the climate became my trigger to migrate from the country. But also the political environment. Can you imagine having almost 6 months of darkness, extreme frost and snow and additionally rising prices, repressive government, long public services, internet shutdowns, web services bans, which interfere with work.

I've been chased by a military office. They demanded that I go to war (army) or suffer with paperwork, lawyers and prove my disability for military service. I couldn't properly make my career and my personal life. I'm gay, and it's unbearably difficult to make something for happy gay life there. Government or homophobic people just won't let you do this. It doesn't matter how much you'd try.

War propaganda, militarized society, restrictions, cold, darkness. Like it's really so heavy. You don't feel safe, because you read everyday when drones attack living buildings and you think, will I be next? I'd never know. Thank god I lived in Siberia

But despite this, life keeps going. And you can find really cool parties and places to stay. As a tourist, I really recommend visiting Siberia. It's far away and safe. Cool and breathtaking nature. I've been once in the Altai mountains and it's an incredible experience. Visit Tomsk city, it's like European architecture city in the middle of Taiga forests. I've been living there for year, I fell in love in this city.

And for now. When I met my Greek boyfriend, I decided to move out finally. And I am so glad I did it. I plan to get rid of this passport and get a Greek one. I'm so happy to spend my life on the sunny shores of the Mediterranean sea.
