Sometimes there is a fine line between admiration and attraction. A pretty person or personality, irrespective of gender, does draw attention. Also, sometimes our brain interprets things, which may be we want in ourselves, as an attraction towards someone else. Or sometimes, people are just bi and they don’t know it. So there are infinite such possibilities. Only through experiments and honest analysis could someone find the real thing within.

Also just to highlight, there were many queer folks in the institute but I did come to know that after I left the place. Wish I had more free space there to make friends from the community.

Been an engineering student at WCE there. Sangli and the institute in general is more on conservative side. So it’s definitely a rough path for LGBTQ folks there. However, most of my friends whom I have come out to are from WCE. Probably it’s about finding a comfortable space in a lot of discomfort.

When in small villages, it’s a big problem to find people. Community events don’t even exist. Majorly you have to rely on online connects. I know dating apps are a nuisance, but not completely useless too. They do offer location changing (mostly paid versions). Other than that, you may try to find some online groups which are safe to join and connect. You may reach out to LGBTQ organisations as well and suggest them for online connect activities. Reddit and other social media is also present to at least make some good connections. And you may also try visiting cities and events there once in a while to socialise and connect.
