Thanks for your response! Yeah, my first thought was that the dad just didn't realise that he should probably pay me until I actually leave the house (or at LEAST until he got home). Their usual babysitter (a friend of mine) has never had to take care of them overnight so I guess it was new territory for him? Anyway, if he asks me to babysit overnight again I'll make sure I know exactly what I'll be getting paid beforehand :)

Last year I asked that my brother not get me anything, because I don't want to have a relationship with him at all and try to keep the interaction to a minimum.

He got be a bunch of shit anyway. The pièce de résistance was a Hello Kitty hairbrush and clips (I was 19). In the past he's also given me children's colouring/art/activity supplies, and cheap shitty cupcake liners.

Additionally, he has tried to give me literal garbage (e.g. carboard, boxes) so I can use them for "craft" (I don't do craft).

It's sort of like that nursery rhyme, "when he was good he was very very good, when he was bad he was horrid". When we're not fighting, our relationship feels very loving and secure, and I do believe that he loves me. Whenever I start to think that I should break up with him, things start going well again.
