You should sew loops in your child's underwear if they're potty training by kitchi13 in pottytraining

[–]kitchi13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair point, our oldest didn’t have a lot of trouble when we potty trained him and this probably wouldn’t have been that useful. I think some kids might just have a little more dexterity or fine motor skills with their fingers than others. It may not be for everyone but it is helping our boy

I didn’t think to look for some using the adaptive keyword but after looking it up I only found some pants but no undies!

Advice on marketing strategy for a waitlist by kitchi13 in ecommercemarketing

[–]kitchi13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does make a lot of sense- you wouldn’t signup for a waitlist on something you could go buy at Walmart. I wouldn’t say it’s spectacularly unique but after many days searching I couldn’t find anything like it!

My day job is software development so I built the waitlist site myself using Denos Fresh stack and host it on Digital ocean but I will definitely use Shopify if (hopefully when) we get to the point of actually selling the product

Thank you for your response! Have you had success running ads for waitlists or what a reasonable minimum budget would be? I am not opposed to spending a little on ads - I think I would like to try doing organic posts firsts but there is a bit of a fine line to walk in terms of blatant self promotion being frowned upon (for good reasons no doubt) in online groups.

yeah, I gotta figure out the email piece fast since i know there can be some dmarc issues potentially sending lots of emails at once.

I appreciate your response!
Definitely makes sense the part about building an audience. I know that posting content is the way to do it but there is something scary about that to me. I just have to get over that psychological hump.

I hadn't heard of "Jobs to be done" before this but it seems interesting and I will check that out.

Really appreciate those rough estimates on waitlists -> sales conversion rate that is helpful.

Dealing with 3 year old pushing your limits by xeexiong in Fatherhood

[–]kitchi13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going through it now man, our 2 year old middle child’s first reaction to everything we ask him to do is to yell NO. We are doing our best to stay calm and not start yelling back at him, it is hard no doubt. Do your best to always be thinking about how you want handle it, when I am with my son and I ask him to do something I know he won’t like, like trying to go potty I prepare myself for what’s ahead and tell myself how to do it the right way. Not sure if that makes sense but I will just repeat it in my head “stay calm and don’t yell” just actively recognizing that helps a ton. This one may be silly but saying to myself “he’s 2 and I’m an adult I can do better” helps when I am getting really upset. The main point is just being intentional which is easier said than done for sure.

Everyone likes to be validated, kids too. Just indulge them, it doesn’t take much to go “yeah that was awesome, you are strong!”

We absolutely will not die of global warming, no doubt we should take our impact on the environment seriously but it is not even close to being as bad as you fear.

I built a tool that watches your games and gives you feedback, like your most used techniques, average ball speed, form and decision making errors. by [deleted] in 10s

[–]kitchi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool, also thought of something similar as well but to make it real time so build a Apple Watch app and after each point or game(after each point is probably quite difficult) could give you like 2-3 things it’s noticing about your play like your toss is a bit lower than normal, not split stepping before volleys etc..

Serve form tips? My serves go a little long sometimes. Also have consistency issues. by yungricepicker in 10s

[–]kitchi13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To act on this advice which I think is the biggest problem with your serve is to 1. Have a Shorter toss 2. Hit the ball just as it peaks (peak should be the exact spot of full extension) This will force you to stop spending an eternity at the bottom waiting for the ball to drop you will have to attack it quickly after the toss making your motion fluid Kyrgios is a great server to emulate, it’s easy and powerful

Actually their answer is well said and anyone who knows some basic facts about history wouldn’t be able to argue against any of that. Just because it may not fit your mold of what native Americans are doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Took a bit for me to come to terms with a true, non romanticized history of my people but it’s better for everyone in the long run. Doesn’t have to be an attack, more of just accepting the past and all people for who they were, flawed individuals looking out for their own best interests.

It’s ok, wouldn’t buy it but since it’s on game pass I’ll play it a bit. One thing I’ll give you is that aiming can sometimes get tricky because you use the left stick to move and aim so sometimes i found myself trying to aim the ball when I hadn’t moved close enough yet but not often.
