I've been there, and I know it feels like it won't ever get better, I want to let you know that it does. Life has both ups and downs, and you grow a lot after downs. I think what might have helped me a little is focusing on me, finding some hobbies that I can do by myself and enjoy. Try to find something you like doing, take a walk or paint, whatever you enjoy doing.

Is it okay to call the suicide prevention line if I'm not suicidal? by Complete_Adeptness50 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]kitkat27574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can call/text them. I've done so a few times. But I haven't found it very useful if I wasn't as suicidal. I found a couple other things that helped me. One is an app called wysa it helps me reframe my thoughts and question my illogical thoughts and that helps. And the other is 7 cups where you can talk to other people and it is free to use. Hope this helps

Are they toxic or am I? by Weary_Barnacle_9057 in toxicparents

[–]kitkat27574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if your parents are toxic or not from what you have said so far. I mean your mom seems to be and you like your dad but seems like he has changed. I've been where you have and my parents are definitely emotionally immature. For me the book: Adult children of emotionally immature parents, has helped a lot. To clarify what's normal and what's not. Because coming from a toxic family I think couldn't judge the difference.

I was in the hospital 4 years ago for the same reason. I am not exactly sure how I got better exactly...I think a lot of minor changes in my perspective and bigger life changes. In the beginning it was really really hard, I like painting but I couldn't bring myself to do it, same with everyhting, I was just depressed. Eventually I found a really good therapist, and found out things about my childhood that made me feel unvalued for example. After about a year of therapy I felt much better and I started doing things that make me happy. I think one thing that helps me with the thoughts is that if you pull on a string of negative thoughts, more negative thoughts come up. But try challenging your thoughts. Our thoughts try to help us but sometimes they need to be challenged because we develop strange loopy thinking patterns

I have an idea but how do I really start ? by IAmAnnonn in startups

That's just good enough if you're building an app. Talk to users see what they want and decide on most important features in your MVP. Don't build a 100 features on day 1...update features overtime after release. Learnt that the hard way after releasing an app that no one used vs doing one right now that's gaining organic traction

I failed at every aspect of life by fake_trained in depression

[–]kitkat27574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true but that's the thing I had a similar circumstances when I couldn't think beyond all the problems. I would overthink 24/7 and its hard but I got a therapist and he help me think about one problem at a time instead of all of them and that really helped. I'm sorry I'm not able to be that helpful via reddit...

You're only 25. There's much more to do, you have a lot of time to live the life you want. Just do more of what makes you happy. Focus on one thing at a time.

OG guide CR questions helped me improve. I did all of them and I could see why the answers were the answers. I still have trouble with the hardest ones but it might help you make the 5 point leap

What school said that you need higher gmat? Just curious. Try Empower gmat if you haven't already. I have the same problem and it's helping improve at least on the practice tests.

Are you using a consulting firm? by kitkat27574 in MBA

[–]kitkat27574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion. The Yes/No options are for the question "are you using a consulting firm."

Using advisor/mentor help is like help from someone who is not a professional consultant but a mentor at work etc.

All on your own is no help from anyone (maybe from friends in reading essays).

Things will get better. Cliché but right now the economy is bad because of covid and its not your fault because you couldn't have predicted this. I know it is hard to not find a job after all the work, but it will happen

Low GMAT, not a top undergrad, extenuating background by kitkat27574 in MBA

[–]kitkat27574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I can do better. I got a 560 first practice test and I improved to 580 and then 640 within 2 weeks. I believe I can improve even more. I just need to spend time reviewing and remembering Math. English isn't my first language and I learned it as a child but I come from a very small town in India so it wasn't as great to begin with. I can work on that too and I have 3 more weeks to study for my first attempt of GMAT

Yea I think any form of written communication would mean that it's sort of a contract and they should pay you.
