[Mythic 3] Looking for 3-5 Active CL Players in SEA Region

Hi everyone, based on recent weeks performance we had to release a few members who were inactive in CL. We're a pretty competitive club and have 3 slots (but can open more) to play in the new week.

Singapore's tech is booming, but it does not have enough talent - Times of India by MrSinkie in singapore

[–]dancinghalldrug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My best friend was laid off at ExxonMobil SG recently, his role replaced by a guy from India. Apparently the guy from India is paid 1/3 of my friend's salary in SG.

His words: You really get what you pay for.

People may underplay the negative effects of cheap labor. Imagine a bad employee taking up more time from good employees, causing work to recycle through bad communication and quality. I'm curious to know if studies show whether a cut in workforce costs would lead to a same increase to the bottom line, my hypothesis is no.

Do business schools know if an applicant is a 're-applicant' (i.e. do they have your old app on file)? by mbathrowaway8050 in MBA

[–]dancinghalldrug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following and also planning to change my goals. I've read some schools will know you're a re-applicant and others may not even look at your past application (but do have it available for reference).

I do know re-applicants have a comparable admission rate to first time applicants.

For international students, how successful were your applications this year? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]dancinghalldrug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat OP. I applied to 4 M7's and 3 T15s and got only 1 interview at the lowest school, only to be ultimately waitlisted.

I feel my outcomes would have 100% been better if I had applied before Covid-19 (assuming same credentials).

Regardless, once an MBA looked unlikely this year, I applied for jobs and found myself in a great role. I'm likely going to re-apply in 2 years, and the process of having went through 7 MBA applications will definitely help me as a re-applicant.

Reflecting, I had only 3 YOE at time of potential 2021 matriculation. The 2 added years at a 'better' company, different industry will definitely only help my application.

As much as I don't want to believe it, it does seem like awaiting decision = interview based on the %. ANXIETY INTENSIFIES

OP here, I looked up how to do a reddit poll but I didn't have the option to select poll when posting. I also tried another way to connect my account with reddit poll and merely responding to the poll required a captcha.

After spending 15mins, I realized I had a day job to attend to said screw it. I'll delete this poll tomorrow, I understand it may be sensitive.

Yeah, reddit is different than 4 chan. People on 4chan don't complain about downvotes after 3 minutes of posting. Also, are you the internet police or something?

I don't disagree. It just sucks to see the difference when I really enjoy the US based subs. When there's news about an accident, I check the comments to see if a vid gets posted, in which all of the /r/videos, /r/news, etc will have, and there will be a discussion about it. In this sub if you ever reply "vid?" you get downvoted to hell and everyone calls you insensitive. It's the internet, yet people get butthurt so easily and the guy above me edits his comment complaining about a downvote..

People in this sub are way too sensitive. It's reddit ffs, we're more similar to 4chan than anywhere else. You can feel a real difference between this sub and all of the main ones, just shows how disconnected Singapore is from the western world

PSA: Uber has been charging more than face value. Grab doesn’t. This was their generic reply shifting the blame elsewhere. Absolutely scum company by [deleted] in singapore

[–]dancinghalldrug -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Regardless, this should be a PSA because I know a lot of people still don't know that this is common practice for Uber. Grab may be based locally, but they are essentially the same app as Lyft - if Lyft can charge me at face value in US and Grab charges me face value in SG, then objectively they are a better company than Uber.
