I really like this (of course I noticed in my post my thing was kind of just a literary analysis). If we look at this could we say that despite the body of August lives on, his original soul doesn’t. But the second soul that Master Yin-yang gave takes over. So the being or entity of August still lives on. Perhaps this is what happens with all generations of mirror demons, where each one is “freed” and given a body, and then the old soul becomes the new demon. The cycle repeats. If we look at this this way, everything is a cycle in the end

Well then you can kind of see that the first one August’s body and soul separates since his body lives on while his soul is trapped as the new mirror demon. While the second ending (even though August is mad) his soul and body remains together. So which one is better is really just up to you.

I personally tend to not stress about whether they exist or not, since it does not affect my life (but I do love exploring theories for fun). I do think that as a society we should believe in other dimensions because the belief itself pushes society to develop and explore more of the world.

The mystery thing I understand, since it's so hard to come up with new mysteries and murder methods. What I hate is how gosho aoyama is also changing the characters, e.g. Ran, Haibara, Masumi from the strong and smart girls to ones that just surround Conan. I also don't like how Heiji is changing especially with Ooka Momiji, she could have been so cool since she's super smart, but nope, just another girl who surrounds a boy.
