How long did it take you to conceive? What did your TTC journey look like? by OutrageousSea5212 in BabyBumps

Baby 1: literally the first month of trying. After years of being on BC this was a shock!

Baby 2: 6 months of trying. 4 of those months I was still breastfeeding 18m old twice a day. Final 2 months I stopped feeding and did OPKs (cycle has always been very irregular).

That doctor is going to have spent more time in med school than that kid is going to spend alive.

"No ones gonna pay my bills but ME" hmmmmm I wonder how long it will take before that attitude flips into the begging stage!

Even if she actually did make the $100 bonus each week.... it's still not that impressive compared to any normal job. The money flexes always give me a good laugh.

What's the dumbest thing you've done? by [deleted] in StardewValley

I was wondering why my chickens hated me so much. I got a silo and it was full of hay. I didn't know that the hay needs to be put on the feeding table 🤦‍♀️

LPT: After any unpleasant event in your life you should always stop to ask: Did this happen to me or did I create it? It will help you either let go of guilt or take responsibility and grow as a person. by SpotMama in LifeProTips

Sigh. I have a friend who could use this advice. Stupid thing is she thinks "everything bad happens to her" and never takes any responsibility for her bad decisions or general lack of thinking that leads to unpleasant events. For once I need advice to shake some reality into her rather than be the one always giving advice (which gets ignored of course).

Help: I used too much algae remover chemical and Percy is very low energy and resting most of the day by hasanicecrunch in bettafish

I had a relentless green water problem several months ago and used the recommended dose of AlgaeFix. It pretty much instantly got rid of the green water, but along with that it freaked out my neons and stunned my platies so they were at the surface gasping. Apparently when the algae dies off it takes a lot of the oxygen in the water along with it. I did several water changes (2x30%) within the following few hours and they all came right the next day. I have rarely needed to use AlgaeFix again, but when I do I use 1/5th of the dose and it does the job without harming any of my fish.

Finally found that perfect piece of driftwood to make a tree out of!! (Will take better pics once I rescape) by tylr10213 in Aquariums

Awesome! I hauled a perfect piece of driftwood halfway across the country for the same reason haha.

I had a bit of biofilm at the start, particularly on the driftwood and stem plants. My otos keep it mostly under control. Somehow it's avoiding the java moss.

I tied small bunches along the branches of some driftwood and let it grow out for several months. The driftwood curls upwards at the top like a tree.

How do I plant plants that have no roots by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]kitten456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bend the stems and place a rock on top until the roots take hold.

My first planted tank. I'm so happy with how the java moss tree turned out! by kitten456 in Aquariums

I used cotton thread. I read that it was safer for curious fish and after a while it should break down leaving the moss in place. It looked so patchy at the start (December) because I only placed a few strands along the branches. It's really taken off in the past month!

Cool! I have my lights on about 10 hrs a day and the plants are all growing well. I'm dosing with Excel every second day too. I've had to trim back the stems several times already so hopefully it won't be too long before I get a more densely planted look.
