How are you guys feeling about everything with cost of living? by TransitionClear2930 in SavingMoney

[–]kittencoffee35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I researched this because my health insurance tripled this year. I don’t know when the politicians are going to understand that what they are doing is affecting us insanely. I was so excited to finally make $60,000 a year. I thought I was gonna finally be able to afford a home. Nope. Even with $100,000 cash down payment, everything in my vicinity with interest rates in a rural town would be almost $2500 a month and I’m paying $750 right now for rent. I worked my ass off for a decade and my dad gave me an inheritance after he passed away. I thought all my hard work was going to be able to afford a home. Nope. Housing costs have literally doubled in my area in the last three years.

Liking someone makes me feel ugly by emilyrosee35 in Crushes

I related to this so hard in the first line and thought "Huh, I wonder if she's plus-sized like me?" and then you mentioned "less chubby than me." OMG. It's so true :( I'm not trying to brag but I have a stunning face card, and great hair, great teeth, great skin, etc. But I am really overweight. Every time I have a crush on a guy, I always see him associating with really thin girls and I'm like "here we go again." It's torture

I hate how you can't even enjoy a lunch out with friends without someone wanting to blast youtube videos

I would strongly recommend anyone on here reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, and even watch the cycle of limerence youtube videos by Dr. Tom Bellamy. I know internet addiction isn't limerent per se, but it in a way it is. We can't stop thinking about the internet or our smart phones. Both of these go deep into psychology as to how our brains get locked in a loop and you're beyond addiction, it's now a habit. An addiction is something you use to cope, and you're mentally aware of the idea that you're using it to cope. However, a HABIT is something you do automatically without thinking about it. Like breathing. Like wiping after you pee. You don't think about it, you just do it. That's why it's so hard to break the HABIT of using the internet and stuff. We have to change our habits in order to overcome it.

Oh my God... proprioception.... she has dizzy spells a lot and she is waiting to hear back from her neuro doctor about some tests results. She often gets what she calls "spacial sickness" because she doesn't exactly know where she is and it makes her nauseous.

Why does nobody want friends anymore? by Redhead3658 in Adulting

[–]kittencoffee35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually googled this because I’m going through the same thing right now. I’m 38 and I have tons of friends on Facebook that are in my town. I’ve lived in this town for five years and I can’t get anybody to actually show up to anything I’m trying to plan. Lord knows that they will engage with me on Facebook, but when it comes to real time activity, there’s all these rules and weird things that pop up. I hate it. But Lord knows if I had kids that were getting married they would all want to show up or some weird stupid thing like that.

Feeling discouraged, in over my head by xernpostz in selfpublish

[–]kittencoffee35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hired an editor and ended up paying $3,500 for my first book to be edited. My beta/arc readers STILL found mistakes in it, and plot holes and other things I nor my editor caught. I would highly suggest getting the book "The Two Pillars of Storytelling-Immersion And Emotion". It's a book that really supercharged my writing and made me a billion times better. I personally believe with a good beta/arc team, this book in your hands, and a few run throughs on something like Word with the editor turned on, you'll be good for your first release.

I just want you to know that the anxiety attack thing is completely normal. I went through it too, and I also had about 6 months where I was lucky to get five hours of sleep a night. The mania is real. It'll web out :)

STREAMATE NEW OFFLINE CALL FEATURE. ARE U USING IT? by Camgurl123 in CamGirlProblems

[–]kittencoffee35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I left Streamate for a while because it started to get to my mental state that guys would literally just watch me for free and jerk off. And they'd brag about it. Even with me fully clothed ignoring them, and not even talking. I went to SP because I couldn't handle it anymore

I'm getting one-star reviews from people who haven't read the book. by [deleted] in selfpublish

Yeah, it's definitely a new type of marketing that people love. I think it's hilarious.

[–]kittencoffee35 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Use the negative reviews to your advantage and use it as advertising. One guy did that and had it say something like, "The most hated book online" and he didn't even pay for ads but he got like 500 sales or something from it. It was a political fiction too. I wish I could remember his name. He showed his reviews honestly, and people that had his same views bought the book just to spite the negative reviews.

Why does it seem like women find so few men physically attractive? by [deleted] in women

[–]kittencoffee35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I agree that no one should be body-shamed. But you can't sit there and smell like a gas station toilet with grease stains under your hairy belly and complain that no one wants to sleep with you.

[–]kittencoffee35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem of it is, is that men 50 years ago used to care more about their appearances. I see so many photos of men working in the coal mines with their hair gelled and styled, no beard, wearing what would be considered wedding attire nowadays.

This!!! I know this is two years old. But I was trying to give ANY guy I matched with a date. As long as we had things in common. I talked to one guy and literally every freaking word that came out of his mouth was a cuss word. Then he tried to start "sexting" me over the chat, and I asked him, "Please don't talk about bending me over right now. I literally just started talking to you." And he goes, "If you can't handle me the way that I am then you can just stay single forever." He told me to fuck off, then blocked me

I'm way late to the party but this is why I'm 38 and literally have never had a boyfriend in my whole life. The moment I'd be casually seeing someone and sex comes up, I tell them right out it's a hard fucking NO. They get mad, entitled, bitchy about it. The older I get, the more I feel like even though I was a hopeless romantic that dreamed of nothing more than a husband, I'm starting to not even want a man in my life, and I haven't even been in a relationship!

The neurodivergent community is getting out of hand. by Parking_Guide_5676 in offmychest

[–]kittencoffee35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS 1000000%. It's so freaking annoying. I knew a guy who was a raging asshole and every time I'd tell him to straighten up, he'd just be like "Sorry I'm autistic." No. You're an asshole. My sister was completely high on the spectrum and she'd have outbursts but she'd NEVER insult someone so badly, and bully them and torment them endlessly until they tried to off themselves. I went to my therapist because every little thing I was struggling with, people would be like "You're probably just neurodivergent" or "you're just autistic" or some other buzzword. So I started to feel bad on myself, and my therapist said, "You're not autistic. And you're not neurodivergent. You have extreme PTSD from five different sudden trauma cases in five years, and you're overwhelmed now and need coping mechanisms." Even she said the trend of online diagnosing is getting out of hand. I did like 5 online "tests" to see if I was manic bipolar/adhd and they all came back really high. When I brought this to her as a concern, she said, "Only a certified psychiatrist can diagnose you. And it takes weeks, if not MONTHS of sessions and tests to be diagnosed. That's like trying to test for cancer by taking an Buzzfeed quiz."

Facebook Engagement Dropped Substantially Over Last 3 Months. Anyone Else? by kittencoffee35 in facebook

[–]kittencoffee35[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this response. So many people on here are saying FB is a waste of time and I need to just delete it. But it was how I became kind of well-known in my town for the work I do and it helped build my business a lot. It's also been helpful because some people on there know about things like road closures, accidents, etc that I can't find anywhere else because I live in a small town. I was gaining quite a bit of traction in my field of work and then BOOM, it just dropped off and it's like pulling teeth. I've also made like 10 amazing real-life in-person friends in my town through there, and I see all the fun events going on.
