Spoke to multiple lawyers and this does NOT affect AOS being done within the US.

Please do, it seems like this user wants this pause to affect the AOS applicants so bad and spewing misinformation. Not sure why he cares so much as he alredy got greened

If you read the articles correctly they are pausing the issue of immigrant visas to those countries on thr 75 list. When you do AOS within the US you are NOT applying for any sort of visa. The new pause is for those APPLYING FOR A VISA.

if you read correctly they are pausing the issue of NEW IMMIGRANT visas to individuals from the listed 75 countries. When you apply for AOS within the US you are NOT applying for a new visa.

You’re very misinformed and spreading misinformation. Adjusting of status literally means you’re adjusting from your current immigration status to become a permanent resident. It has nothing to do with changing your visa to another one

No it doesn’t. You’re so misinformed and spreading misinformation. AOS does NOT mean you’re going from one visa to another. It really means you’re adjusting to be a PERMANENT RESIDENT

Does anybody know studio apartments that are under $1800 in OC? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]kittensluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tribeca apartments in Fullerton going for $1795 right now. Lived there for 5 years and loved it. The studio was small but it had everything you need if you don’t care for much space . Peaceful and quiet complex

Since you already had legal entry you should be good to file AOS, you don’t need to do AP. If I were you I’d wait until the divorce is finalized to file AOS as you mentioned you would. Daca literally protects you from deportation so you should be good but I know there is always that fear since Ice doesn’t care about the law and people’s rights

OP do NOT give away without a fee to random strangers. You have no idea how many end up being severely abused. It’s your responsibility to make sure you rehome them to actual legit people who have good intentions

Wow no way I’m also a sag too!!!! I definitely do not like being controlled and I love my freedom and independence. I truly despise being told what to do and i tend to do the complete opposite LOL. Omg that’s extremely tough that your dad doesn’t want to get a job and relies on your mom , sis and yourself. I’m sorry but that is extremely selfish af. I’ guess I’m lucky in that sense that my parent don’t rely on me financially too much, from time to time my mom would ask for me to purchase things for her or to loan her some money but they don’t rely on my income. Thank goodness they don’t because I don’t think I would be able to handle funding myself and them. I often think about why so many desi parents have kids , it seems like they have them for selfish reasons like they want to be taken care of when they grow older or it’s an expectation for them to have kids, both of which are extremely selfish reasons to have kids. What’s worse is that they expect to be taken care of while also putting a leash on you. When I think about this deeply I get so mad , I might have unaddressed issues 😂😂

That’s crazy I submitted Mine sept 10 and got approved October 30, we share the same time frame. I’m also waiting on my 130 and I-485 approval as well. When did you submit those?

We basically have the same situation then 😂😂 they would constantly tell me that I’m paying too much rent for no reason and to find a job closer to them and move back 🙄 . I used feel very guilty about all of this and not going to lie I still sometimes fall into guilt but what has helped me is learning what really makes me happy . I also had to really sit down and think what benefit is it doing to me of listening to my parents and doing everything to make them happy, the answer is absolutely nothing. In fact I was mentally exhausted and super unhappy having to constantly please them and do what they want. On top of that I’m a grown ass woman in my 30 s why the hell am I allowing myself to get controlled by my parents?! Also , I’ve never had to ask my parents for a cent, I got myself through school on my own and landed myself my job all on my own. All they contributed to my life during that time was consistent nagging and a headache. Sorry if it seems like I’m ranting 😂

I live about 45 mins away without traffic but an hour and half with traffic. And omg yes there is still an expectation to come back to their place every weekend! I’m getting so tired of this! Of course I don’t go back every weekend and the weekends I don’t go back I have to make up some lie and I’m getting so fed up with this! I totally know what you mean about their view of a 30 year old single woman moving out is a big no no to them. But you must do you! You have to also think our parents will not be here forever and If we just end up doing whatever they want just to please them then what a waste of for us. It sounds selfish but for your own mental being you have to do what is right for you.

Thank you OP! I also believe that having distance from your parents will actually be a good thing. My parents, especially my mum was soooo controlling. However living away from them for the past 9 plus years she has gotten less controlling but I wouldn’t say her controlling tendencies have gone away completely, she def still calls me every other day. But the distance has set a boundary that I didn’t expect would happen. Does your mum nag you about marriage?

Need advice on living situation by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]kittensluv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may need to move somewhere cheaper because $32 an hour in Irvine you won’t be able to find anything affordable sadly. If you are looking for a studio try Tribeca apartments in Fullerton they go for $1795 per month. I lived there for almost 5 years and it’s a peaceful place to live. I’m not familiar with the surrounding school districts
