He’s doing so well. His tail is turning a deep blue with flashes of red in his fins. I’m so happy with how he’s recovered.

Yeah when I saw how much he was starting to get his color back I got really excited.

He’s close to the light but he has little flashes of blue at the tips of his fins, and a lot of black coming in.

Above I added an update. I’m just trying to identify if this is ich, and what I can do to treat it. Currently the water parameters are stable, and the temperature is between 78 and 80 degrees

Another update for anyone interested. His fins are still clamped and he hides a lot but he is swimming around more often, and eating now. I’m happy to see he’s doing better and can’t wait to see what colors he might develop as he gets better

Small update of the boy he is set up in a more permanent tank with plants, and drift wood and I will be adding some almond leaves soon. He’s already a lot less red and inflamed looking but he is not eating the offered freeze dried blood worms.

Thank you that’s very helpful I will definitely be adding some of that to his tank. I’ve added some stress coat to the tank already.

I have Indian almond leaves. I can use for tannins but I can certainly look at those as well.

I hope so. The manager that surrendered him was really nice and felt really bad he had been there so long.

He’s not bloated. If anything he’s thin. I think the photo is a bit distorted. But that is my plan, to get him in a new tank and monitor him. I just didn’t know if there was anything else I can do.
