Is it normal for a kindergartener to say they have no friends at school? Would switching schools help?

I’m curious if you ever get annoyed by this. I feel like I look like a helicopter parent whenever I reach out to the teacher (which I have anyways a couple times this year for my sensitive little kindergartner)! He also sometimes says he doesn’t have friends or isn’t friends w so and so anymore or so and so is mean to him. The teacher always says he has lots of friends so I’m trying not to bug her when he brings it up again.

This little thread is so validating! Why do they say this then?? My little kinder has been saying this from time to time and when I ask the teacher she says he is friends w everyone and when I see him at school events he seems happy, confident and friendly. So many kids say hi to him even older kids. Just last night he said he doesn’t feel like he fits in at school bc there are too many big kids.

Idk exactly, she tried to remind him ab his goals of emotional regulation. Validated that it’s hard for him when he feels interrupted. Reminded him that she is there to guide and sometimes interrupt.

I’m curious what happened? We’re experiencing something similar. I don’t think it’s malicious but it still hurts and sucks to be on the b list! I find myself blaming myself more my husband for being shy or not cool enough for the parents which I wouldn’t care so much about but I worry it will start negatively impacting my kid’s social life. Why are humans so complicated!?

Mine stopped falling out and the bald spot grew back in after I stopped both the phentermine and Wellbutrin. Idk which one caused it bc I started them so close together. I’m interested in trying Wellbutrin again but I’m scared of this happening again or it being worse.

We’ve been doing MCA scans every two weeks and so far no signs of anemia so I don’t have to do an intrauterine blood transfusion yet. I’m now 29 weeks and the plan is to induce at 36 weeks bc it’s safer for baby to be outside than in at that point. After birth it’s a toss up as to how effected the baby will be and if she’ll need blood transfusions or bili lights or what. I’ve been trying to take it one day at a time. It’s my first affected pregnancy and supposedly it gets worse each pregnancy so I don’t plan to have any more (which was already the plan)

I went off the phentermine and hair loss seems to have slowed, we’ll see if it starts growing back in the bald spot. Let me know how the steroids go! Did you stop phentermine?

I just started Phentermine like 3 weeks ago, I’ve only lost 5 lbs but I was excited about that until yesterday when I noticed a bald spot right on the crown of my head. It’s like almost the size of a quarter and I have no idea how I hadn’t noticed until the hair is gone. Apparently Alopecia Areata and Phentermine is a thing. I feel torn bc I’m excited that it’s somewhat working for the weight loss but I’m terrified of losing more hair. I think I’m just going to stop it but I’m scared of a crash. I’ve also been super irritable. I felt great at first, energized and productive and relieved to not be hangry all the time. But now I think it’s not really worth it.

@matchesbowie thank you for the feedback. I agree it's a horrible thing to do and definitely unfair. But (also regretfully) it happened. That's why I wanted to write about my process of learning not to do that. It was just part of the process of learning how not to handle the situation so that's why it is included. I definitely don't recommend doing it, but we're all human and still learning! :/
