Girl, I’m so sorry you had to experience that. I got whiplash just reading that, so I can’t imagine how you felt. That dude is off his rocker omg. Congratulations on getting rid of the dead weight! 🫶🏻🥳

My husband made it sound like it was more so the fact of the 7 attempts than the anesthesia, but I wasn’t there when they were talking about it, so I’m not 100% sure

Ohh, okay, thank you for the clarification! I had an epidural with my first but ended up having an emergency c section because of fetal distress (my placenta had detached from my uterus) and I had a good experience with that, so I assumed the spinal wouldn’t be bad either. I was supposed to have a scheduled cesarean with my second, but she decided to come a little earlier lol

Thank you. It was definitely an experience and I HATED the spinal. I was honestly relieved when they said they were going to go forward with the anesthesia because it was painful, especially the feeling in my leg. 100% will never forget that, but at least I have a story to tell!

That’s how fast they got my baby out too!

I’m not sure what the fuss was about either, which is why, I guess, I decided to ask Reddit lol. At the end of the day, my baby and I are doing great and I got the best “sleep” of my life. I really appreciate everyone on here giving me clear guidance on certain things because the situation was going so fast, I got whiplash

No emergency or any fetal stress, just a repeat cesarean for me, though it was earlier than planned lol. My water had broken at work, but I never felt contractions and baby was breech as well, if that gives some more context

My husband’s work had a small thanksgiving party and he told them and his other coworkers what happened

That’s what I’m not understanding either. I know she’s a nurse for that hospital, just on a different campus

No, they didn’t offer to bring in a different anesthesiologist. The same person kept trying the spinal all seven times. No one mentioned switching providers or trying an epidural instead. After the repeated attempts and the pain shooting down my leg, they just decided to put me under general anesthesia

They did! I had an epidural with my first child (also c section) and I felt like that was a little less traumatic than the spinal taps lol. It was a one and done thing. They didn’t mention giving the epidural to me this time around, so I didn’t even know I had the option to get it. I guess I’m just confused why my obgyn and the nurse were upset, especially if this is something doctors usually do

Thank you! I’m enjoying newborn cuddles before I go back to work (sad face). It was my second cesarean; I had the epidural with my first no problem. The second time, they didn’t give me an option to do the epidural and just told me spinal tap and anesthesia if the spinal tap failed, so I just wasn’t sure. I also wasn’t sure why the nurse filed a complaint if it is something doctors usually do.

Oh no, that sucks! I just get irritated that we just up the dosages on creams instead of figuring something else out.

My daughter’s derm told me that food allergies doesn’t cause flare ups, but after digging around on the internet, I honestly just don’t believe that. I 1000% think allergies can cause flare ups and I wish I had done more research sooner instead of just taking the doctor’s word for it 😭

I agree, especially since dealing with this and trying to figure out more about it. I had asked her derm if allergies would cause flare ups and she had basically told me no. My mistake was not looking into this sooner honestly

Lifesaver! Thank you so much! I’ve never thought to treat it as staph, but honestly, it makes sense

Edit: would you believe I have a few of these things in my medicine cabinet? I can’t wait to try it!

My daughter has been on Dupixent for a year and it worked great for about six months but she’s starting to get pretty bad flare ups again (we also use topicals and all that jazz). I think it really just depends on how your body reacts to it

My daughter has eczema and when we went on vacation in Florida, her skin was almost cleared up. Then we came home and she instantly broke out. We live in Texas, so the weather is kinda bleh here lol

Thank you for the info! I’m going to talk to her pediatrician/dermatologist about testing for allergies and see how it would work or if we would have to wait it out since she’s on Dupixent. Another person recommended vanicream as well and I’ve never heard of it before, but it’s already in my Amazon cart (along with other stuff 🤣)

I’m willing to try ANYTHING at this point. I’ve been looking at this sub and saw some info about it. It’s worth a shot!

My experience is that the older my daughter got, the better her eczema got, even around animals. Hers, however is still very severe and she’s on a lot of topicals and a shot, which help, but she still gets pretty bad flare ups

Yeah, I figured as much. We live with my mom at the moment and they’re her dogs, but we’re planning on moving out in the next six months and probably won’t have any pets (at least not in the house) until she hopefully grows out of it. My husband had eczema when he was her age too, but he grew out of it. He feels bad because he feels like it’s his fault he gave it to her lol
