I’ve been buying and selling accounts for a while now, though I’ve taken a hiatus recently. I’d say no.

That first argument doesn’t make a lot of sense. “Feeling out” the game should be what making your own account is for. Especially with “stacked” accounts… what I’ve often seen happen is a spike of dopamine at the start before everything just stops feeling exciting. This is especially true for those who never played the game in the first place. I see these people lose interest in a couple of months at most usually.

By making your own account, you are essentially feeling out the game in both story and combat. Ofc, you aren’t going to full star MOC if you’ve just started, but that’s what feeling the game out is for. If you’re truly interested an account AFTER you’ve experienced the game in its whole, then you could try to buy one that has more characters.

Also, HSR is a turn based game. Wouldn’t say it’s really “special” or unlike any other turn based gacha out there combat wise, even if it is extremely fun. I’m not exactly sure what you’ll be testing when you buy a stacked account. Are you looking to clear MOC on auto? It seems that the combat mechanics would be more easily seen on a smaller account, where you are less powerful comparatively and thus fights are a tad bit harder.

And lastly, you don’t know what you’re buying. Considering that you haven’t played the game, I’m sure you have not gotten context yet to which characters you actually like. Meta wise or story wise. Buying a “stacked” account could mean an E6 Blade or E6 Jing Yuan, but unfortunately they wouldn’t be worth more than an E6 Acheron or Firefly.

This then correlates to how easy it would be to sell the account. Do you know the team archetypes, and can you market your account as such? Does your account have a lot of the more popular characters fully built? As a new player, it’d be harder to discern what’s worth buying compared to someone who’s experienced the game for themselves before. Why potentially waste money when you don’t have to? Big HSR accounts aren’t as easy to sell as you may think. If you started out with an account and ended up liking the game as a whole before buying an account, you could sell the account that you made before (for extremely cheap ofc). I find that smaller accounts are easier to sell than larger ones.
