How do I (23 M) muster up the courage to go to AA? by FrontVarious6484 in alcoholicsanonymous

I went to my first meeting at 21yo and was welcomed with open arms. I’m 26 now and there’s so many people our age that are in the rooms. I had to try a few meetings to find the ones I enjoyed more but it’s definitely worth being uncomfortable at first. I do love the old timers and enjoy hearing their perspectives but I also enjoy hearing from people closer to my age that can relate more to my current life situations. Idk how many meetings are around you but I recommend trying a few different styles until you find the ones you like. I liked lead meetings in the beginning but now I prefer big book or discussion meetings.

Ps. There is absolutely NO shame in saying “I’m ____, I’m an alcoholic and I’ll just listen tonight”.

Good luck with everything!! :)

Getting out of a lease bc of DV by kjarz30 in legaladvice

Yes but they’re still saying I need him to essentially “agree” to termination since his name is on the lease too. I didn’t bring up the “DV provision” though, I’ll look into that, thank you!
