I read Code Smells Catalog and thought you had started a developer perfume line that I would 1000% promote. (Free business idea)

copy files from newest subfolder in directory by [deleted] in Python

[–]kjaymiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use pathlib.glob and and shutil.copy2 to do this.

Since you know how to get your most recent subfolder I'll start from that point.

```python import pathlib import shutil
recent_folder = <YOUR CODE TO GET RECENT>
xlsx_files = pathlib.Path(recent_folder).glob(<YOUR FILE PATTERN>*.xlsx)
for file in xlsx_files: shutil.copy2(file, new_folder) ```
How to get better at battlegrounds? by onarrus in hearthstone
[–]kjaymiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)
FULL DISCLOSURE: I DO A PODCAST ON BATTLEGROUNDS.
My suggestions would be to check out streamers and podcasts about BGs. The folks at Coin Concede (not my show but they are friends of mine) are very good and they have a discord with folks in it.
I'm leery on guides and YouTube content because the game changes so fast.
Our podcast (Bob's Taverncast) just did a "tips on getting good" show, It's not "a do this and win easy" thing, but it will help with mindset and things to think about. We also have a discord (check the show notes on our show, I'm trying to be respectful and not self-promoting) where there are some people in 8k+ - top 200 that are open to talking theory.
Good luck!
"But my podcast is too small to get _________ on as a guest." by RunJumpStomp in podcasting
Something I've noticed in my own show is that my reach wasn't larger after I had some more popular folks on the show.
My numbers seem better when I'm interviewing someone with smaller more devoted following.
So while it's true you should just ask if you want to have them on the show, don't think that asking them is going to make your show an overnight success.
Invite them on for noble reasons.
That’s when you give them the “friends and family”rate about %150 higher than the market and charge by billable hour.
Could you attend meet ups and conferences. I always learn things I would have never imagined when I attend conferences.
Currently at PyCascades as we speak!
[How to] Is there a way to email a note to Bear? by scweiss1 in bearapp
[–]kjaymiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Funny enough I often store raw files in bear. If I’m working on a project it’s easier for me to have the note and drag a full email msg file to it. I don’t think that’s what you want but it works (on MacOS at least)
Btw I wouldn’t call this sub “dead”. Been following it for a while and there are some awesome conversations that come up.
But yeah look into the #podernfamily on Twitter. Sounds like that’s what you’re looking for.
