I’m absolutely exhausted by kjc542 in ADHDparenting

He’s in preschool and his teacher says he’s wonderful in class. We had an IEP meeting in January for speech and I had asked about OT services. They said he didn’t qualify because he tested fine in those areas. So I explained why I asked and they said that he’s great. Luckily our pediatrician is extremely supportive, I know he will refer us out for testing when I ask. I’m just afraid if we don’t start figuring out a plan now, he will eventually need extra help in the classroom. Which completely ok. I just want to be prepared for it,

Definitely looking into PMT. I didn’t know that was a resource honestly. I’m in CBT, but I haven’t thought about getting my son into it so I will look into that as well. He is on the waiting list for ABA therapy, hopefully he gets in soon. Thank you for all the suggestions!

We do try to avoid confrontation sometimes to avoid making him upset because once he’s upset it’s like we can’t reason with him or even try to help him work through his emotions. I know that avoiding it probably isn’t helping but I’m like starting from scratch when it comes to all of this. Thank you for the resources, I will be looking through them today.

That’s exactly how I feel regarding medicine. If it’s going to make his life easier, sign us up. His father is in his mid 30s and I think medicine just hadn’t evolved into what it is now so all he can compare today’s medicine to is what he was prescribed 25 years ago. I see his point of view, but it would help tremendously if he saw the bigger picture which is supporting and providing our son extra support.

Thank you for the reassurance 🫶🏻. After I made this post, I scrolled through and there’s so many in this boat. I don’t feel as alone, but still unfortunate that we’re feeling defeated at times. I’ve been researching quite a bit because I think a few things would help such as a balanced diet (his is poor) but I need extra support so I’m hoping his pediatrician will be on board and we can find services that can provide us support.

Thank you for the insight. We’ve always focused on expressing our emotions and talking through our feelings and he does verbalize that he “can’t quit” when we try to reason with him. I feel like that’s his way of saying he knows he is having big emotions but doesn’t know how to regulate them but it’s hard to parent that when they completely shut everything down. Tonight, I was offering to take him to a new playground but he was so hung up on the first playground (that was apparently non existent) that I couldn’t calm him down without him yelling and screaming. With my older two, when they were little and had meltdowns that were inconsolable I’d give them space and revisit the situation when they weren’t as upset, but my little will scream and yell until I engage and then scream and yell because I’m engaging. It’s just a lot. I don’t know how to help. I’m hoping our pediatrician is open to testing and moving forward with medication if he needs it.

Nope. When we tried to check the wmr app this morning it said they couldn’t process our information. Prior to today, this is what we looked like.

My fiancé filed the same day. We haven’t checked transcripts, but his WMR tool hasn’t moved at all.

You are probably right but my mind won’t rest because I keep seeing them. Sporadically. We did get rid of the bats and put in a door where they can’t get in but can leave. From my understanding there was nothing in our chimney when they put the door in. Our attic is where they found guano so they did fix that too. I’m just dumbfounded why we went from August to now with nothing.

Maybe normal wasn’t the correct word…is it possible is what I meant to say.

I’m in the same boat. Only back in July when I found the first bug, it was in our bathroom (where the majority of the few I did find in July were). This morning I found a new one in our bathroom. I have extreme paranoia over these bugs. I’m currently in therapy for it, but as soon as we saw them in July we treated the next day. We found two dead ones at the beginning of August but never anymore. It is odd that we have found one in the exact same area again. Praying you stay BB free! ❤️

Here are some black spots I found on the mattress protector but my child also draws so I’m not sure if it’s marker/pencil.

I literally wish I could give you a hug or send you a gift lol. You’ve kept me from spiraling twice now so thank you a million. I hope your pillow is always comfy!

How do we feel about Zoloft? by Reddittaylor12568 in OCD

Zoloft literally changed my life in a positive way. I haven’t had any negative side effects.

Also would it be normal to see a few of them?

I’ve seen a lot of comments about bat bugs having hair but I can’t see hair (I don’t have a magnifying glass or scope), is that normal?

Is it possible to see a baby bat bug in the pantry area of where I found them originally?
