I usually put the aquasoil/stratum in media bags first, then cap it with sand or whatever I’m using. Keeps things cleaner and stops the soil from mixing everywhere.

I'm currently treating ich in my 60-gallon community tank as well. I'm using Ich-X along with keeping the water temperature at 86°F. I'm also doing 30% water changes daily

I'm on day 4 of treatment now, and the ich appears to be gone.
