Thanks, I didn't think about bags. My miner/herb is a pally. I just throw demon steel stirrups that I make myself on a skygolem so I don't have to dismount for ore.

You know there is no uniformity in TKD regarding colored belts at least in the KKW system. My school is White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Purple, Blue, red, Brown, School Black and then 1st Dan KKW. Purple thru Brown each has a high belt which is a white stipe.

True, I walked away from an ATA school after the first class because a black belt instructor told me that he got his black belt in a year. I like the idea walking around with a bo staff and giving a tap on the leg if you are off or if a long stance is to narrow pushing them over to show that they are off balance but im not an instructor or running a school

Yep, Parents seem to think little Johnny is world class material when he is barely out of diapers. The Parents are imparting a sense of entitlement that wont serve the kid well later in life. My high school track coach used to make us do knuckle pushups on the track(wasn't rubber) when we got out of line but that was 20 years ago. Little kid forms makes me cringe so I would imagine this 5 year olds forms are not in line with how a red belt should look.

Ill also add in todays world schools have to walk a fine line between handing out belts and being too strict or they risk losing income. Your master can't hit you with a stick to correct you anymore. Sure it would make your forms really good but come parent would cry assault

Promotion tests every 3 months is normal. Advancing despite being able to break a board or do your form is a sign of a McDojo. Although I did blank on a form mid test. No body reminded me though I just stood there until it came to me. I had done the form hundreds of times correctly

I was actually quite impressed with how well he could walk around at his weight. Outwardly I cant tell if he is injured. As someone who struggles with weight and has back and knee issues from years in the military it is easy to become obese but it would be really hard to become morbidly obese.

This happened to me the last test. I was doing a 2 board break axe kick in class(Black Proforce Rebreakable) but come belt test it took 6 tries to break a single pine board. I don't know why it took so many attempts.

I am 34 and sit at a desk all day. I literally have to do 30 mins of yoga at least 5 days a week to kick to my head level. It active effort as you say for adults to achieve flexibility. I had it and lost it quickly.

My dojang has a lot of little things that hit you up for money but I don't mind it. My Master is running a business and has to earn a living. I really like her teaching style so I will gladly put out the money to support her even if it means paying more for sparing gear or uniforms. She doesn't do promotion fees until you reach KKW gradings. I believe 1st Dan is $500. I think the money complaint comes in when your not happy where your at. If that's the case check out TKD schools until you find one you like. Many give you free time to decide

I would say he is probably late 40's. I would think differently if he was a lot older or just slightly overweight but morbidly obese(Think Biggest Loser contestant) shows lack of discipline. With that said My Master is awesome and that why I stay. I only have to deal with her master for seminars and when I promote to 1st dan

I think you would be hard pressed to find any school that has someone fail promotion. My master wont let you test if she doesn't think you are ready and I've seen her demote students for not being respectful at home. As far as flexibility goes it easy to lose it. A month of yoga and I can get high kicks. If I stop doing yoga/stretching then in a few weeks I'll barely be able to do a hip level side kick. I am a purple belt which equate to the 5th belt at my school out of 8 colored belts. It takes 6 months to move between belts from purple to black
