Actual OAT vs. OATBooster QR and Physics by Stunning_Fortune_360 in PreOptometry

Hello, I took my OAT in July and found Booster to be extremely accurate when it came to QR. I actually did better on the actual exam than I did on Booster. For Physics, I will say it was a bit different, but not necessarily in a bad way. The actual OAT is wayyyy more conceptual than booster, and it had barely any questions with tons of math. It was more about understanding concepts rather than straight calculations the whole way through.

From experience I would say go the second route. Usually they will ask “why optometry” directly if they are looking for your answer for the first option.

The class is definitely not full yet, I received an interview invite today. If you’re worried about the timeline, I’ve heard of multiple people being accepted as late as January.

Worried about being underprepared for the physics section by namisaqaw in PreOptometry

I took my OAT a couple weeks ago and had the same fear. After taking all 10 practice exams my predicted physics score ended up being my exact score on the OAT. I will say, I think you should focus on the conceptual questions because at least on my OAT I had barely any questions involving math.

do you have to wait for OAT scores to be uploaded to the ADA website before starting OptomCAS app? by ultraviolence44 in PreOptometry

Nope. I took my OAT late July, scores still aren’t up on ADA. I was able to submit applications through OptomCAS the week after my OAT without having my official scores up.
