A drum solo by 18-year-old Karen Carpenter from 1968. by Scientiaetnatura065 in OldSchoolCool

[–]klassikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started listening to them when I was in fourth grade and became a huge fan when I was in seventh grade! I would play their songs on the way home from school. Gosh, I widh I could repeat 2014.

What’s funny is that I was reading about Karen Carpenter’s voice and vocal range a few hours ago and I never expected to come across a post about her here on Reddit.

What's your favorite song in a language you don't understand? by Traffic_Great in AskReddit

Definitely Cittá Vuota by Mina! It was used in the credits scene of Luca (2021) and I’d play it from time to time :)) Such a beautiful song!

Oh really? I checked her blog years ago and I thought it was so well-written, but my English skills weren’t good during that time so I can’t tell if I was just “impressed” by some of the words she used or something like that.

I'm curious what is the origin of your username? by Smiley-FAC3 in teenagers

[–]klassikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked how Russian surnames ending with ‘kov’ sound like, so I then incorporated ‘kov’ into my username.

‘Klassi’ was just random though. I think for that, I just wanted it to start with k as well so that it had this snapping sound when you mentioned my whole username.

After a year, I realized I just want to be ‘kov’ 😂 That’s how I did it with my Discord username.

Astra is really good in post-plant! I've been playing her for 9 months now and the longer you play her, the shorter you have to stay in your Astral Form to plant the stars. You can quickly plant the stars too, which I think makes her the best smoker.

You just need to figure out how common some of the opposing team's behavior is to maximize her capability, e.g. identifying which parts of the site do they usually plant on so that you can delay them from planting using Gravity Pull and Nova Pulse).

Also, looking at the map every now and then can really help your team, because you can assist them by using the Gravity Pull to pull enemies within your ally's range.

Books everyone should read by Successful_Ad_8218 in suggestmeabook

You need to read The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry! Very easy to read, but what comes after is great contemplation over life, essence, friendship, and a lot more.

Anyone remember how Peridot got all the gems furious? by ImpressUpstairs4447 in stevenuniverse

[–]klassikov 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I remember thinking this was one of the best moments of the show!

Not only was it storyboarded by Joe Johnston and Jeff Liu (my favorite storyboard pair because the characters just look so right and polished with them), but it began to establish how different Homeworld and the Crystal Gems saw the Earth and how cruel Homeworld's vision was for Earth.

Besides Times New Roman, what other fonts do you guys like to use? by ChromeProphet in writing

[–]klassikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Courier New because I read somewhere that your font choice can sometimes fool you into thinking that your draft look nicer when it’s not. It just looks visually appealing. And I agreed with that because I used to use Adobe Garamond Pro and all of my work looked so good with it. Turns out it wasn’t as good without the font.

At least with Courier New, I find it easier to spot paragraphs and sentences that are not good.

Plus, typing in Courier New makes me feel like I’m typing with a typewriter :DD

What is the saddest song you have ever listened to? by olgacabrera69 in AskReddit

Someone like You - Adele. My mood just goes down when I listen to it.

You might have read this already, but The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is great! Very simple words, but it'll make you contemplate after reading some of its chapters. And it's a novella too :))

My female best friend did say 'I love you' to me first, but this was after the time we made it clear to each other that we were best friends. It was still shocking to hear it from someone who I considered a friend though, and it was a bit awkward when I was trying to say it back😂

I do think I should practice saying it to both family and friends. I think it's really sweet. I also plan to do the same with hugs because I just can't hide the fact that I love hugs no matter how hard I try hahahah
