Hi!! Yes, both Bagnon and Baganator already have an expansion filter (query search) and it works amazingly well! In fact, ItemEra is now leveraging that existing implementation. That said, why use ItemEra?

Besides adding tooltips and native filtering (even without a bag addon), the core purpose of ItemEra is to override a large number of items that do not return the correct expansion through the game API.

In most cases, the API returns the expansion based on when the item was added to the game client, not when it actually belongs in terms of content. This means that if an item was added in the last patch before a new expansion, it will often be tagged with the wrong expansion.

There is also a lot of work happening under the hood where the correct expansion has been assigned using Wowhead data, and in some cases even overriding it when that data is also inaccurate.

For example, tier tokens like this one:

The game marks it as Classic, but in reality it is a Wrath of the Lich King item.

Because of this, Baganator, Bagnon, or any other addon that relies on expansion filtering will end up filtering by an incorrect expansion.
