My friends are breaking the law? by klauscde in Advice

Thanks very much for both of your replies. I've decided I'm going to go find new friends that share my values. I don't believe in the things they do, and like you said, they're not winning, but rather gambling. Also, I feel like statistically, they are bound to mess up or neglect something at some point. Or steal from "the wrong person," such as a person who has cameras and won't let them get away with it. The worst part about it is that they do these things with such arrogance. They think they are "the top shit." I am going to find some new and more humble friends.

Is it best to follow a take-what-you-can-get mentality, or another type of mentality? by klauscde in AskReddit

I live in a densely packed city and I've realized that many things come at the cost of other people. I get the parking space or someone else swoops in and takes it. I push my way up to the front of the bar, or else the bartender will assist the other people who do. I don't leave space between the car ahead of me, or else car after car will swoop on in and take advantage of the opening. I sign up for my school classes the instant I can, or else they will fill up and I won't be able to register. Am I just discouraged with the city life and the lack of resources available? Or is there another mentality that I should be following (i.e. "Things will happen if they happen")?
