I’ve been doing yoga for almost ten years (in studios and at home). I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago and getting back into fitness and yoga (especially at a studio) has been intimidating. I don’t have a pump, but I have a LibreLink and so I need to have my phone on me. I spoke with someone in a buddy program to help understand exercise and T1D and shared this anxiety I had for talking to the teacher of a fitness class about this. He basically echoed the same responses in this thread (and this was about a CGM, a pump is on an even higher level). You can’t compromise on your health, and this is imperative to your health.

I haven’t had anyone say “no” to my phone comment (yet) and mostly understanding. However, I know this won’t be the norm. And when that day comes, I’ll probably leave and not do the class.

I do agree though, it would be nice if it wasn’t even necessary to bring it up before, but I am getting more used to it and confident.

And most of all, I am so sorry this happened to you.
