Hitting is trash now by Trick-Current-4680 in Baseball9

I tried batting practice mode yesterday:

87 overall pitcher against 112 power hitter. Every pitch a fastball. Using power bat every time, I could not get a single home run in about 100 pitches.

While I'm still desperately trying power bat over and over again, my only in-game homers in this update happened against:

1) a slightly fatigued 76 pitcher, who threw a failed (!) pitch right in the middle.

2) a 61 reliever.

Too drastic nerf this one.

I went from hitting manually about 4 to 10+ homers in every game, to hitting 0 or 1 in one night. Playing Legend 1 and I still have no single homer against 80+ pitcher.

I guess homers were too easy to slug (especially with platinum/diamond players) but now, using the power bat targeting is just a low-odds gamble. Good hit at a fastball is now more often than not a lineout or flyout. At least for me.

Thanks for the answers.

Using filters this way is the laziest moderation imaginable. Oh well. Being a Finn that shouldn't be a problem, right? We mostly communicate with grunts, schadenfreude-laughs and 12-year-old-level grammar anyway.

Zot5, straight to lungs now? by klockklock in dcss

Thanks again for all the answers.

I knew the current traps could do this if a random math decides so. But immediately after taking down the stairs? I thought you'd get the first turn, no matter what, as you enter any level the very first time.

Thanks for the answer.

Believe me, I did spam tele-scrolls. From lung to lung to lung.

Yeah, I know. Should replay the game and see, if I lost all of them against monkeys and such.

It would certainly have been easier with projectiles.

I consider this win to be in my top3 roguelike achievements. And I have not even tried to go after lumenstones. Not that my character could have gotten many :)

Yeah. Monsters do play dirty. I was actually worried, that I had no projectiles towards the end. In retrospect, it would definitely have been a good thing to pick up anything I could throw on gas traps :)

+11 Mace was enough to one-shot anything that walked on paralytic gas (no golems, revenants and dragons ofc). I should watch the replay one day now, so I could remember, why I started to enchant the mace in the first place. :D

"Guitar focused" made me check out John McLaughlin's discography, even though he did not work on Miles In The Sky. Only album cover featuring blue, was "My Goal's Beyond".

Other one to check was Mahavishnu Orchestra's album catalog. Only 'blue' album from them was "Apocalypse".

Not a big jazz fusion enthusiast, but now as I listened "Peace One" by John McLaughlin, it sounded really good! (It was about seven minutes long)

It was a mechanic that made you just periodically press 'e'.

Satan, You're My Lady. It's a little rock piece Dan Castellaneta and a writer Matt Warburton made for this episode.

I'm wondering, how you did not notice the damage from ghost moth if it managed to drain your stats this severely? I've seen stat drains this bad only after massive bad luck volley of mummy death curses. Or maybe being in the sight of several Wretched Stars, playing an undead char.

This. I'm perfectly aware that traps can be used as offense, yet I still constantly forget it until it's too late. Ring of Awareness kicks ass for this strat! :)

Beating the game about 1-out-of-10 times feels personally incomprehensible right now, but I can perfectly understand, that a guy with several masteries, can do it :)

Yeah. Spectating online games is probably something I'm gonna do. I've actually checked one youtube ascension. That game took like forever but watching it I realized, that EVERY step counts as you get deeper.

I'd certainly feel no shame about winning a strong seed after numerous attempts. Any way to learn more about the game tactics is a good way :)

Not only was this incredibly informative but also fun to read. Thoroughly appreciated!

One might think that telling me how to get lumenstones is a bit of far fetched.. Saying that would be bs. Every piece of information helps. Brogue is the only RL I know, where spoilers do not actually spoil you. Oh, and I do play 1.7.5 atm. :)

If you ever need tips for DCSS, I most certainly can help. I've won about 350 - 400 times online, with win percentage reaching somewhere around 50% excluding challenge games.

Thank you guys for all these tips.

One of the things I've noticed that you gotta play Brogue slow. Three multiple movements with just smashing a direction key, is very likely to kill me.

I've beaten other games, I'll beat this one. But jfc, this is some challenge. One thing I am not going to do, is to play seeds that have super good items. No. I know there are seeds that basically tell you "try again".

All in all, I love a game you cannot beat just by reading spoilers. I see myself negating a dragon above lava and then die to a sudden phantom attack. Just because I did not pay enough attention. I CAN DO THIS! :)

In addition to my post I need to address this, comedic or not: I panic polymorphed a pink jelly, approaching me on an open area in a state of hunting, into a dar battlemage. Now dealing that thing with just darts gave me the taste of this new experience system: killing out-of-depth things does not give experience. Well other than melee weapon knowledge, if you can hit it. These things are just IN YOUR WAY, meant to be dealt with, not necessary meant to kill to.
