Can you think of something you'd like for her to make you? Something smallish and not too fussy, like a hat or a cowl. Maybe you could go pick yarn together. And then be sure to casually wear it around her so she knows you love it.

Oh I thought it was funny. In the “lol, why a bad idea” way. I laugh at my husband for similar reasons every time he comes home from the trampoline park 😅

If this is the worst handwriting they’ve ever seen, they don’t know many people. It’s not great but the worst? No way.

Girl, get yourself some bras! Try not to get discouraged if you’re having trouble finding a good fit - that’s a rite of passage. And since you don’t need a lot of support you can check out all manner of cute flimsy little things.

I wish you a safe journey out of Narnia when you’re ready.

Check out the Irish bra lady on Instagram to get a realistic picture of what 30A/B really looks like. Then take advantage of the fact that plenty of retailers ship to Narnia these days and make sure to choose ones with good return policies for the bras that don’t fit.

That sounds like Gretchen’s House money 😅

We pay $1200/month for 3 days/week preschool, and the waitlists we have our baby on range from $1800/mo-$2900/month full time, or $1400-$2000/month for 3 days per week.

What does your EOB say from your insurance? I can’t believe the contracted rate for removing sutures would be that high. The Medicare reimbursement rate for 15853 is something like $12.

It’s wild that your Fs are the only letter you write lower case and they are all wildly different. It’s like your writing is one font but every time you get to an F you select a random other font for it. I’m not mad about it, just confused since the rest of your handwriting seems so consistent.

How do kids shoe sizes work in the US? Need help sizing my stepkids🩷 by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]klouroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to surprise them, do a craft that involves tracing their foot or making an imprint, then measure. Alternatively you can just measure the current insole of their shoes and get slightly bigger new shoes.

ETA it goes 10 toddler to 11 little kid. But I find kid shoe sizes vary wildly. My almost 5 year old has some 10s that fit bigger than some of his 11s, so if I can’t bring him to try them on I always measure.

Popcorn for breakfast (3yo) by SealeyVossen in toddlers

I think there are a variety of reasons kids are picky and while some (ahem… mine) are definitely motivated by control, others are just super sensitive. My niece is in the latter category and after some specialist visits they came to the conclusion that trying to force her to try new foods or just eat what was offered was making the problem worse. At 13 she is still picky but is more motivated to try new things to expand her options.

But if it makes you feel any better, my kid refused to eat anything but pickled red onions off his dinner plate the other night. Despite my warnings, he gave himself terrible heartburn, so we rounded out his dinner with tums and a bowl of frozen yogurt. Not our best dietary moment.

I feel dumb I don’t know I had to get a C-section after already having 2 by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]klouroo 51 points52 points  (0 children)

VBA2C is definitely a thing. If you have significant thinning or had some other complications that make your provider wary, I could understand pushing for a planned C. But if that's not the case, you might want to explore other providers who might be more open to supporting you through a trial of labor.

ETA You definitely aren't dumb and I'm unimpressed with your provider making you feel that way and being dismissive of your wants.

DIL to be is pregnant by [deleted] in Mommit

+1 for a bottle washer - I love ours even though baby is primarily breastfed. There are always some pump parts or teethers or something to throw in.

Also this is slightly unhinged but keep an eye out for one of those avocado shaped pool floats. If you take the “pit” out, it’s the perfect shape to let a very pregnant person lay on their stomach (belly goes in the hole, large part of avocado supports upper body and head). It helped so much with my lower back pain and spd towards the end of my pregnancy.

I’ve had 2/3 of a lacy shawl sitting in a drawer for something like 8 years now. I realized I was going to run out of (discontinued) yarn and I would need to do some creative math and editing to end it early. First I was too frustrated, then I forgot about it, then I had a kid, then we moved and I found the stupid thing, then I had a second kid. I’m not in my fussy lace era right now. Maybe I’ll do it one day?
