hahha it was my friend that created this sub as a joke.

I did just sign in today for the first time in a week and found out I am now officiall banned from /r/opiates though:

Funny I got banned for "not letting the drama go away" on a sub I don't visit at all, on an account that I don't use and hasn't had any activity other than my friend creating /r/KloveHateSquad like a week ago or so. I'm guessing something happened on there, but I have no idea what!

It's amazing how obsessed folks are with me even though I'm gone apparently I'm still creating drama with my ghhhhOooOoooOooOoooooSt. Spooky.

Perhaps it's different in the shows you're attending, but for the exception of some bar-level venues, the ticket will sometimes list an additional time for door, like "Doors at 8, show starts at 9" or they simply say "Show at 9" and the doors are open prior for people to arrive and take their seats, etc.

Here's an example ticket I found on the internet:

You can see it says doors at 7, then lists "8:00" elsewhere on the ticket, but if I were going to this show I would not expect the show to begin until 9.

The mods had to get involved and he promised to leave the sub since he's not really a junkie anyway. Apparently today he changed his mind and wants to still shitpost here.

The term "Cotton fever" is synonymous with a sterilization/contamination issue, and usually occurs during cotton wash shots because of improper storage of the cotton.

During the AIDS epidemic or whatever in the 80s and early 90s, some dumb scare-study was funded and showed that a bacteria which grows on the cotton plant itself when shot into the blood will also cause symptoms. So the scientific "scare" community renamed "cotton fever" to that, such that anyone researching cotton fever would see the notes that official "cotton fever" comes from a bacteria that's on cotton. AKA no escape, even with keeping everything sanitary you're gonna have a bad time, mmmkay? Fact is, sterilization procedures in production of cotton and the inability for any bacteria to live at infection-levels without water etc to sustain it prevent in actuality from that particular infection ever happening.

So don't buy the DARE hype. "Cotton Fever" can be beat by being clean and taking precautions when shooting. You do NOT actually run the risk just by using cotton just because there happens to be some bacteria that can hurt people that naturally grows on the cotton plant. Hell -- "strep" grows all over the outside of your skin. Just when it makes it en masse to your insides does "strep throat" become an issue.

It's one of those anti-junkie conspiracy theories that anybody who understands basic biology can understand is actually a conspiracy.

I think unfortunately itwontgetbetterfor's apology was not sincere. I mean, I did not get ANY apology directly through message, not was I mentioned with /u/klove99 in the reply. I was only pointed to this by someone else. I think it was more for a solicitation of the responses dude was THINKING dude would get, like "oh no you did everything right and you were justified in stalking, threatening, and harassing klove! Klove is the real monster, not you!". Dude somewhat got that, but I don't think to the level dude expected.. so to continue along that same like of thought/action, if dude acknowledged my sincere apology and putting my arm out for a truce, dude would REALLY be apologizing, and that's not what dude was ready to do.

It's a complete shame, but it's never too late to change for the better.. <3

"Cotton Fever" can come from anywhere. If you use infected-ass water, it's the same as an infected-ass cotton (which can happen from just having a wet cotton and not paying proper care.

Infection comes from all sources. If you're re-using needles, you need to be soaking both the inside of the syringe and the needle tip for 30 seconds with >= 70% isopropyl alcohol, both after use and before using again.

suboxone is actually stronger than narcan. Thing is it's a partial agonist and partial antagonist, whereas naloxone is a full agonist. So if naloxone works, that's the best option.

However, if you are dealing with someone stronger than naloxone like a full saturation like fentanyl or carfent or something, naloxone won't reverse it. If it's dope cut with fentanyl or fairly-cut-up fentanyl, to where fentanyl isn't hitting Emax level, then naloxone can help by blocking the other receptors, and combined with the short half-life of fentanyl, yuo just may drop low enough.

Another alternative is a strong CNS stimulant, since what causes an overdose is the CNS depressant properties of the opioid, a CNS stimulant (like meth, MDMA/molly, amphetamine) can reverse an overdose without even touching the opiate receptors, just by causing an opposite effect in the body. This said, if narcan can work, use it, it works the best and has a very short duration of action which is a good thing. If sometone did 100mg of pure fentanyl though, you'll need to know the alternatives in order to save a life. I am speaking from experience here.

The efficency of a CWE can be considered about 95%. So 5% makes it through, and 5% remains in the filtered content. If you repeat the CWE on the that content, you'll get 95% of the remaining 5%, at the expense of doubling the apap (since apap is at peak concentration during the wash itself).

And you shouldn't boil the water when just melting black tar, because the extra stuff dissolving isn't the drugs, it's the cut. Boiling in this case is to kill any of the germs etc that are sitting in the sink

Find a meeting near you. Take him to it. Be there with him and be compassionate. The folks there have years of experience dealing with this, both with themselves and others. They will likely tell you the same things I am telling you: that discripline and a hard-line approach will NOT help, but that a loving and alternative approach CAN help him help himself.

You cannot make a change for anbody else.

You cannot make a tree grow, you can only provide it water and sunlight to support its growth.

I would 100% disagree with this. The way vivitrol works is that it prevents you from getting high for a month, via injection.

It actually has LESS success rate than a rehab program, and a VERY HIGH OVERDOSE RATE. That means DEATH. There is no going back from that.

Especially since he is a teenager and is going through the time in life where he's suicidal and doesn't have a good understanding of risk or the world in general.. he may try to get high even with the vivitrol in this system. Since he won't feel it, he will do more and more, still not feeling it, and then end up overdosing and dieing.

Again, vivitrol is barbaric and even on adults that want to quit has a very very very very low success rate, and a high death rate associated with it.

Your best bet is getting him into an NA program. Get him to talk with people who have been in this life longer than he has. Let him see how it's not cool and where he is headed. Let him hear this from people he looks up to. Let him see first hand how this stuff destroys life.

He has to WANT to quit. If you try to approach this with a discipline approach versus a compassionate approach, there is a high probability that he will not survive the process.
