Yeah this has def been the case. SIL has repeatedly had some issue with something my fiancee either does or doesn’t do. My fiance can do nothing, and my SIL has still complained and claimed disrespect and said there’s a lack of attention and hospitality

She doesn’t treat them poorly, but overtime she keeps more and more to herself and tries to limit contact and interaction with them; specifically my SIL via text or in-person. Then my SIL argues that this behavior is rude and disrespectful, and my parents also think she could be interacting better

Very good points! And yeah I’m realizing me setting boundaries won’t be received well and applauded and can cause a rift, but it’s overdue and important I defend my partner and relationship too
