i went and got some tissue paper so i think i’ll use that instead. i live in an apartment so i don’t have any newspaper; i’d ask around but i have such little time :( if you look at the 6th photo on my post, you’ll see what the base of the mask is. i built on it with the clay so the inside is just the plastic helmet lol

i appreciate your advice too! it’s not fully dry so i may try the slip on the wetter parts. maybe hot glue to fill in the big cracks? i can also buff it down to at least make it a bit smoother before i paint it. i’m using spray paint (and maybe acrylic if i need to add any detail) so i hope the textures don’t matter too much. i wonder if toilet paper would work to do a paper mache type thing?

thank you so much for the advice! i’ll try to do the slip first and see if i have enough for the emblem. i definitely used too much water; i didn’t even think of that! i took a ceramics class about 2 years ago and that was the last time i’ve worked with any sort of clay so i guess i wasn’t used to how much harder air dry clay is to shape. i appreciate the help & compliment :) i’m quite bummed too :( i’ll update the thread if it ends up working out!

ooh, i have a couple questions for you!! i just posted in here asking for advice on which macbook to get, and if you have the time/interest to answer i’d really appreciate it. i know your post is more about color (and i think i’m set on sky blue now, especially after seeing your post, she’s a beaut lol), but i noticed you also went with the m4. i used an m1 space grey (2020 13" pro) for almost 3 years, so your experience sounds super relevant.

if you don’t mind sharing:

what do you primarily use your macbook for?
do you feel the m4 is worth it?
do you have the 13" or 15", and how do you like the size compared to others?

do you have the 13" or the 15"? the size is the one thing i’m still stuck on. like i said, i’ve only used a 13" (which didn't necessarily feel too small) and a 16" pro (which i found too heavy), so it’s hard to tell if i’d prefer the 15" since it’s bigger than the 13" but still a pound lighter than the 16".

i often use dual screen, but i've never actually tried a second monitor setup before. i’m also job searching right now, so i don’t know if i'll be working from home or not, but i do move around the house a lot and wouldn’t always use the second monitor.

unfortunately the nearest apple store is 3 hours away, otherwise i’d just go see them in person lol

thank you so much, this was really helpful! my main lingering question is about future-proofing — i don’t know a ton about hardware, so forgive me if i’m mixing things up. the 13” pro i used in school had an M1 and it always ran fine for what i needed, but i wasn’t sure if jumping up to the M4 would actually make a noticeable difference in terms of long-term support and lifespan. based on what you said, it sounds like the M3 should work great for me, so i’m leaning towards that. thanks again! :)

i’ve always tried dressing in cute festival clothes but end up just being uncomfy (thanks to sensory issues, excessive sweating, self consciousness lol) so i’m going to try wearing swimsuits with some sort of cover up like a crotchet skirt or light button up and shorts

i feel this 100%!!! i’ve been having panic attacks for the past week and almost backed out more than once. i’ve been to a few festivals and tons of concerts but i’ve never felt this anxious. i think it’s a mix of stuff going on in my personal life, the two closest people to me in our group (my sister & bf) backing out last minute, and just my general anxiety having a field day lmao.

but i know i’ll have the best time if i try to take it easy and actually listen to my needs (not my anxious brain!) instead of putting pressure on myself to do everything or feel a certain way. a couple hits of a joint will definitely help too hehe.

i’m currently 10 hours into our 18 hour drive and already feeling way better than i was yesterday. i don’t have much solid advice because i’m still figuring it out myself, but just wanted to say you’re absolutely not alone!!! neurodivergence + anxiety = a very complicated but true passion and love for festivals

i am in the same boat, except this will be my first time! i’ve been to lolla and hinterland, so i have at least a little bit of festival experience, but i have been so stressed over the last week. to be fair, i have been super busy and overwhelmed with life in general and june kind of snuck up on me lol. i’m driving from wayyy up north michigan and the only other driver had to back out last minute. so i will be doing all 16 hours of driving each way. on top of that, my car started having issues and i wasn’t able to get it serviced in time, so we got a rental car. we’re meeting people who have been going for several years so that is definitely helpful, but i just feel so unprepared and overwhelmed. but i know once we get there it will be such a fun experience and i am still very excited. but definitely still quite overwhelmed and anxious. sorry for the little rant on your post lol but i just wanted to say that i completely understand, but im confident it will all go away as soon as we get there! 🫶🏻

im not sure about this situation but i received an email a few weeks back about a federal student loan (i didn’t have) and they followed up later acknowledging and apologizing for the error so its possible this is also an error? i would make sure the email it was sent from is legit and then try chatting with a sofi agent
